Contracted with Homecrafters to do a deck and sun room on the back of my home, complete with heat and a/c that started in April of 2011 and still to this day my wife and I are still trying to get the mistakes fixed that were made on my project. The Sun room 12 x 20 with a 10 ft ceiling, the platform it was constructed on is two inches lower on the right side causing the sun room to leak water when it rains so far we have had five occurances, the first time they had to replace the floor planks because of severe water damage. The vinyl ceiling under the sun room was so full of water that my wife and I had to use a broom handle to try and push the water out of the ceiling. (sun room is on the second floor). They had to open up the vinyl ceiling and have the insulation hang out for a week to dry out, I request new insulation and was told it wasn't necessary, the wall heating unit was going to be a Samsung, I was told the Samsung unit was out of stock and they had to use something called an Applied unit it makes so much noise we can't sit in the sun room and run it. The deck was constructed by day labor that Homecrafters use to do windows, as I found out later the workers had never done a deck before, I should have known because the first day they arrived the forman on the job sat and read the plans for, four and one half hours then started to work. The county inspector made them tear the steps to the yard down because they were unsafe and redone, now I can't fit my foot completly on the steps, I have to turn my foot side ways to navigate the steps. The decking was Azak composit it had so many waves in it another person had to try and shove shims under it to straighten out the dips in the deck, I also have shims in my steps to the ground which went so deep into the level of the yard that the people that did my paving work had to roll the pavers down towards the bottom step causing it not to be level with the rest of the paving work. I was promised that the screws on the deck were going to be covered with small tumblers to fill the gap between the screw head and the deck surface, that never happened, now I have black screws into a gray deck that looks like H***. The railing going down the steps didn't fit so they knotched the treads of the steps so the railing would fit, I said something to Mr Barker the owner and he told me this is the best we can do. Needless to say I now have a complaint filed with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission and am going to contact someone for legal help.

The salesperson was very low pressure and allowed us to take our time making the decision. He had several suggestions that changed our original concept for the sunroom that improved the end result substantially. The crew was very particular that the end results would look good. They were able to integrate the shed roof from the family room with the peaked sunroom roof so it look as if has always been there. The site was meticulous at the end of every day. The end result is beautiful and we love the sunroom. However, the project took much longer than originally estimated becasue the crew was spilt between our project and another project.

They were very responsive whenever I called I got through to them right away or received a call back. They were very neat and good about taking away all of the trash, as they had to completely demolish my old porch. I was very happy with them and would happily hire them again to do any project around my house.

The salesperson did a nice job not pressuring us into buying a specific product. They charged a very reasonable price. The quality of the work and the professionalism of the workers were excellent. The people they subcontracted were outstanding to work with.
