It went fine but sad of course. I selected a container for the ashes (they have a very wide selection, price and style. And a nice engraved plaque to go on it. They have been in business for many years in the Rockville/Bethesda area and are now located right off 270 south of Frederick. All the areas are clean and the equipment is spotless. You can witness the actual cremation or elect to have the remains scheduled by your veterinarian. I have used other crematories in the past and have driven over 100 miles to find one that you could actually watch the actual procedure.

I had seen the information for Heavenly Days at my vet's office. When it was clear that my kitty was not going to live much longer, I found information on the internet to verify their services and hours. After Kitty passed, I drove her to Heavenly Days myself. The staff was very kind, helping me pick out a container for her remains and offering to clip some of her fur for me. I asked for the long whiskers from her face, which I wanted but was unable to clip myself.
I arranged for Kitty's remains to be delivered to my house, for which they charge a small fee. She arrived about six business days later, in a tiny bag hung on the doorknob. Her wooden box was tied with a ribbon and small silk flower, a very lovely presentation which now rests in a place of honor on the mantle. Heavenly Days donated the towel in which Kitty was wrapped to a local rescue organization, and makes a small donation to a local animal shelter in memory of each animal. The entire experience was as good as it could have been given the circumstances. I will use them again when the time comes for my other kitty.
The only reason I gave them a and quot;Band quot; for punctuality is that I would have liked to have Kitty's ashes sooner than the approximately eight days that it took to get her back; but when I called to ask when she might be delivered, the staff did explain how long it would take.
One word of caution: if you drive your pet yourself, be aware that Heavenly Days is behind a play yard for a doggy daycare; a
newly-bereaved pet parent could become upset watching the dogs play.

They were very polite and understanding. They are very versatile in terms of what types of pets they offer services. The boxes they offer for the remains to be put into, they got me what I wanted. Where I feared my dog was too big for, they were able to give me the box that I wanted. They are very friendly, sympathetic, and understanding. When they completed everything, they sent it to my vet's office. Then I just had to go pick it up and they included some extra things inside. It was very nice, what they did. Overall, with price, service, and they did not charge extra for pick-up and delivery. They are a very good company for what they do. I would not use another crematorium beside them.

Our elderly dog died on a Sunday. We knew this day was not far off and also knew we would want to arrange for individual cremation for our much loved dog. We have not lived in the area that long, so we checked Angie's list and saw that the prior reviews for Heavenly Days were positive. Yelp reviews were also positive. We asked the vet if they could recommend a service and they stated they have received positive comments about Heavenly Days. So, on an incredibly difficult day, at least we were comforted to know that she would be treated with respect.
We called Heavenly Days on Monday morning and they said that their driver would be sure to go to our vet's office that day. The care Jeanette showed all through a very difficult phone conversation helped so much at an obviously difficult time. Their web site is very helpful to get an idea what urns and boxes are available, and many other thoughtful items are available for purchase. We were never pressured to purchase anything extra. The box we chose was included in the price of the service, and is a very nice handmade wood box.
The follow-up calls were appreciated so much -- they let us know when our dog arrived there, gave us an accurate estimate of the date when the cremains would be ready, and gave us the option of having the cremains shipped or delivered directly to the vet's office for us to pick up. We chose the latter. Jeanette called a few days later to let us know the return date, which was the same as the original estimate. Everything was perfect and the hand-written note was so nice. It helped us to know how caring the people are who took care of someone who was part of our family. They even included a note asking us to call to let them know that we had received the cremains. We did, and thanked them once again for their professionalism and compassion. We have already told our animal-loving friends about the quality of this service.

They were absolutely excellent when we had to put our big dog down. They called to follow up, they were very sympathetic and very helpful. You have a lot of different options. You can just have the cremation and ashes in a box or a decorative box. They are different prices if you choose to have the vet take care of the animal or have them come to your home, and we had them come to our home. They sent us a sympathy card. They were good about picking up the animal when it was convenient. They did a very nice job.
