Contractor conducted measurements, explained the cost and how it would be a two person job. Assured me the work could be done in about 4-5 hours. He stated he would turn in the work invoice estimate that day and we would here from them in a few days. I did not hear back from anyone at Handyman Matters, for sometime, so I called their offices, I was informed the job was too big for them, so they were not able to take the job, and offered another contractor for the job, but the company they suggested does not do any installations. From the moment I reached out to and scheduled the in house measurements, I was clear I needed the door, sidelights, and molding replaced. According to their web site, - "Our Craftsman can repair and replace your door frames, window trim and hardware. We can also upgrade your doors and windows to more energy-efficient models." - "when it comes time to assigning someone to your project, not only do we schedule the craftsman most skilled for your particular job, we also ensure that they will be competent, experienced employees, who will have your best interest in mind." Seems the craftsman they sent was not skilled or competent enough to identify a job that is over the head of his company. In addition seems the company overstates its ability. To save money contractor suggested on replacing only sections needing replacement due to rotting even though I was clear on wanting to replace everything, For a company that has been around for about 20 years, and is a franchised organization across the country would know from the start if the level of job is beyond its scope and not after measurements with an invoice is charged. The founder touts their craftsman are experts in his messaging, but when it comes to a simple front door, frame, sidelights, and molding. Why such a big disconnect between Handyman Matters and the contractor they employed. This cost me $125.00, and a wasted day away from work.

Handyman basically removed and reinstalled area of siding that had shifted to the point that a piece had come away from the edge molding that holds it in place so it was flapping away from the house at one end. Replaced another piece that had fallen completely off and broke when it hit the driveway. Looks like new.

The tasks were all completed with very professional quality work, and within the estimated time frame. Craftsman was very capable, friendly, and we felt the service provided was excellent. Scheduling with the company was also excellent. Would highly recommend this company to others.

Overall, the installations went well. A few adjustments needed to be made on the sink/drain/faucet and the mirror was slightly loose and a little crooked but they came back out and adjusted everything.

I would never use them again. It was horrible and ridiculous. I called them and left a message and on Monday, I called them again. The owner said he was getting ready to call me back. I described exactly what needs to be done and wanted it done correctly. We scheduled a time for him to come and he insisted on coming the next morning. I planned to go to Home Depot to get some stuff, but I was running late. I found out the material I wanted is not available, but it was after hours. I left a message asking him not to send anyone out. The next morning someone came and I let them know I left a message and paid them the visit fee. I called the company and the representative yelled at me for not having work for the handyman they sent out. My husband got on the phone and told the rep to stop yelling. I gave him a check for coming out and he insisted that he at least caulk the door. I told him several times very politely that he can just leave. Finally, I hear banging and he was doing the job totally wrong. Now I am the one that has to undo what he did to my porch and the side of the house. They did not respect the customer. They insist doing it their own way. They don't know what they are doing. I asked other professionals and they all knew what they were supposed to do.

I could not have asked for an easier or more professional experience. Initial call to signing off on the repair was done in the space of 5 hours. Very straightforward.

I could not be more pleased with the services performed by Handyman Matters of Frederick. First, when I called in the woman who answered the phone (sorry, I am terrible with names) was very friendly and very helpful. We talked about what I wanted done, where I was located and how they estimated the work to be done and their pricing. She asked that I send her several pictures of the work to be done and they would estimate the same. This was on a Wednesday. They called on Thursday with an estimate, which I accepted and they came out to the do the work on a Friday. Very impressive. The professional who did the work was named Dave. What I really appreciated, was that Dave and I went over the work to be done and agreed on the same almost immediately. No trying to do more work then was necessary and over-pricing the job. I was given an estimate to do the job and Dave stayed within that pricing. The woman, that I talked to previously, advised that to purchase materials, the pricing would be no more than one hour of labor time charged and Dave was within that estimate as well. Dave did very nice work. He very much wanted to do a good job and make sure that I was happy with the final product. Dave replaced the material so that it exactly matched the retaining wall that was in place previously. Further, I had the coupon that was on the Angie's List site. When I was giving the owner (again, terrible with names, sorry) my credit card information, I mentioned the coupon and he accepted it no questions asked. He even mentioned it to Dave so that it was included when determining the final bill. Again, impressive. Note, the owner was very friendly and very personable. Very easy to deal with and came across as a regular guy. In the end, the work was done timely, exactly as they estimated and billed accordingly. In this day and age, it is not easy to find a vendor who charges a reasonable rate and does good and honest work. That is exactly what Handyman Matters of Frederick did for me.

They actually did not preform the work. They contacted Frederick glass company who actually came out and installed the glass.

I love using this company. I used their website to make a request on Monday night, and on Tuesday morning, they called me at 9:15am, and I had a handyman at my house by 10:45am. This company is very responsive and very customer service oriented. Their prices are market competitive. The handyman, Dave, was very nice and respectful of my home. He estimated it to be a 2 hour job, and he was done in about 1 hour. Dave clearly explained his plans to complete the job and worked hard.
