I have used this company for about 10 years and first used them based on positive customer reviews. At the time, it was a locally owned company and at times I even reached Mr. Campbell if I called after hours and I was very happy having a service contract with them and with their service. The business was sold to Griffin energy services several years ago and sometimes refer to themselves as F.S. Campbell and sometimes as Griffin Energy which is very confusing if you try to reach them or look them up online. I believe the quality of service and work has gone down and recently decided to just get a one-year contract and start looking for another ocmpany. I called for a service call due to leaking water around the furnace. The technician checked the system- (we have two systems so just one was checked) and said he had fixed it. A few hours later I went down the basement and it was leaking again. It was after hours and there was no number to call on the service bill so I looked on-line for F.S. Campbell. I called Griffin Energy and said I had a contract through F.S. Campbell and the on-call person had no idea what I was talking about. Eventually I reached F.S. Campbell the next day and requested that a different technician come out as the one the previous day hadn't fixed the problem. This technician discovered that the previous technician had never re-connected a hose so water was coming out of the unit.
Then- it happened again - water leaking and AC not cooling- and I used Angie's list to find another company and they were very responsive and got someone out that day even though I had previously never used their services (I will write a review of this company later- Sila). The technician not only found where the F.S. Campbell 2nd technician hadn't connected something correctly but diagnosed a problem (almost no freon) which was a big factor in my cooling problems. This lack of freon was just 2-3 days after FS Campbell had sent out two different technicians who didn't find this issue or check it. On another note, although I paid FS Campbell a service contract, I have never had my spring/summer service check because their technicians made an emergency visit and would not/could not check out our second system. I went ahead and scheduled a full system check with the new company (Sila) and am so glad I found a new company.

I had been using FS Campbell for several years. They installed our new a/c system.. Purchased their annual service contract for about $160/year. At last fall's tune-up the tech was in and out of my house on his own through my garage. After he left I discovered that a new $50 multi-pack of Fusion razors (that I had in the garage with some other items to be brought in) was gone. I searched everywhere and there was only one possible explanation when they didn't turn up. I called the company and was promised to be reimbursed the cost of them. I waited and waited and, when it didn't come after 3 months, I called to see about the reimbursement and I learned that the company was sold. So I would not use the company that purchased Campbell's for fear that tech was hired by them. Now the a/c unit--1 year out of warranty is not working.

When I called them to repair my AC unit, I didn't know that it was because of a defective part that was replaced last year. But they admitted that it was and quickly ordered the part that needed repair. Although it seemed like it took a long time because of the extreme heat during the time period, it was ordered and repaired within 2 days. Without my even having to mention it to them, they did not charge me for the part but only for the labor. I find them to be a very trustworthy company.

I highly recommend this company. The owner himself came to my place and gave me an estimate. His estimate was much lower than his competitors. The work was done quickly and professionally. Compared to the other heating and air conditioning companies in the area, F and S Campbell is top of the line.

We have been using them for years and they seem to do a good job. They are very reliable, honest and prompt. As far as we can tell, we haven't had any problems with their work. Their quality of work is excellent and their mechanics are very professional.

They are very professional, but, the guys are always very friendly, easy to talk with and they give good suggestions. They do not try to sell you something that you do not need and are quick to repair things.

The company advised us to change our 3 ton compressor to a 2.5 ton. We did and it never worked properly -- that is, it functioned, but it did not cool our house. For 3 springs we would have them come out, tell us it was working fine, and never addressed the underlying problem that the unit was just too small. Finally, we sold our house and while under contract, it froze up during a heat wave and the house got very hot. After it was defrosted it took over a week to get the house back to a comfortable temperature. We paged them several times over the weekend without a returned phone call. We then called Monday to discuss replacing the unit so that we could transfer title of the house in good conscience. The owner of the business did not return our calls until Wed., by which time we had made arrangements with another organization to replace our unit.

This company is the worst I have dealt with. I had many missed appointments for installation and repair. Additionally, the humidifier was installed incorrectly.

Knock on wood, we have had no problems with our system. They have done a really nice job keeping everything functioning well. It's good to have a company you can rely on, and that saves money in the long run. We will definitely continue our service with them into the future.

Did not oversell, but they were unclear about county inspection and sizing requirements. Their initial installation was not completed properly, since apparently they had some relatively inexperienced people working on it. They willingly called in their best installer to fix the initial problems.
