I was initially quoted $350 for a repair. When I called back, the front desk quoted $150, so I decided to go ahead and schedule. The technician who came also told me a service call is $150. However they insisted that I pay $350 because evidently, the person who quoted me $350 is the owner. I was disappointed with how rude he was on the phone and didn't even want to hear me. If this review is still up, he hasn't called me. Its clear their pricing is not standard and based on what they can get in a situation. I would avoid.

They were excellent. They put a trapper in one and tuned up the valves in the other two bathrooms. They were very professional. They came in with something on their feet so they couldn't mess up my carpet. In fact when they put the new toilet down, they found something and got a new one.

VERY DISAPPOINTED Our home warranty company recommended them so our expectations were that they were reliable dependable and above board. NONE OF THIS WAS THE CASE. We felt like they were more of a fly by the night company. When we called we were told they were busy and could not come out to the next day. We were disappointed but totally understood. We waited around most of the next day and NOBODY showed up. We called the place, and spoke to the scheduler and the owner. Apparently for no apparent reason the scheduler thought that we were going to go with another company so SHE DID NOT SCHEDULE us, yet she told my husband they would be out the next day! We were nothing less than ASTONISHED and UPSET by this.. Eventually they found someone to come out and take care of our water heater late in the afternoon. It took my husband talking to them, and then me talking to them before they made the effort to find someone to come out to our home! Sad case when it takes 2 adults to convince them to do the right things. We were given a TIME FRAME and waited, and waited, and waited. We understand things happening, but if you are going to be an HOUR OR MORE LATE than we at least expect that the scheduler will call us and let us know. No call was given to us. The rep came out, NEVER apologized for being late. Looked at the water heater and they said it needed replacement - just like we expected. The rep then told my husband they would be back the next day (no time frame given) and they would replace the water heater. Now it is FRIDAY, we are still without hot water, and at 2:30 PM on Friday, we get a call saying they are still looking for a water heater but will try and have one to us on Monday. They believe they found a sub contractor who has one and they will be there Monday morning. Meanwhile our Warranty company called after that to give us a quote. The quote had some BOGUS extra FEES that we were responsible for. They wanted $100 to pull a permit to do the work (Sears was charging $56 for it). They wanted another $100 because they said the space was too small (the room is larger than my daughters 9x12 bedroom), and $50 disposal fee. I thought they were out of their mind. Looked more to me that since they were having to hire a SUB CONTRACTOR for the work they were trying to make extra money. Cost: $100 - warranty Deductible $2300+ WARRANTY COMPANY covered for a new propane water heater (they never asked if we wanted to upgrade at our own cost) $100 - (We had to pay) to pull a permit (Sears charged $56) $100 - (We had to pay) because the space was too small - it was larger than 10 x 12. $50 - (we had to pay) disposal fee (in our past home this was part of the cost) ---------- Total Cost $2650 OUR Out of Pocket $350 ($100 of it was a deductible - $200 was bogus) We went to Lowes, Home Depot, and Sears, for the price they were charging we could UPGRADE from a Propane Water Heater *please note each store told us that there are no more water heaters made that match our 75 gallon, 80,000 BTU water heaters. If that was the case, why did the plummer try to put the same type in our kitchen. No wonder he had problems finding the water heater, the Federal Gov't no longer permits them to be put in. Why did HE NOT EDUCATE us that there was a BETTER OPTION, and that the LAWS were changing? OUR RESEARCH FOUND that we were being ripped off. 1. Waterless water heater - which our home and family size is considered too large for 2. (2) gas water heaters (2 - 40 gallons) with a converter to propane kit - cost before installation LESS THAN 1/2 of WHAT WE were quoted by this company. 3. Electric water heater - convert from Propane - which with the efficiency was cheaper 4. Hybrid Water Heater - 80 gallons which was $1800 out of pocket before installation ( and their was a $500 REBATE from Potomac Edison, and $300 Tax break)) + installation 5. AFTER INSTALLATION - we could have the new Hybrid Water Heater UPGRADE, plus still have money to install the water heater. Needless to say we TOOK THE WARRANTY CREDIT and decided to go with another plummer. OVERALL: 1. I felt like we were snowballed on the PRICE & CHOICES in water heaters. 2. NOT informed / educated on the new Water Heater Choices 3. Told us we were scheduled for service, then they RANDOMOLY dropped out appointemnt slot 4. No call for LATE show / no APOLOGY either. Over an hour late. 5. Took DAYS for them to ID a water heater, when I could find them at 3 stores ready for pick up the same day. (ON THE SHELF ready to be picked up at Lowes, Home Depot and Sears. 6. By their timeframe we would of been STUCK for almost a week with COLD WATER for showers and dishes 7. They were ready to INSTALL an OUTDATED water heater. 8. Use a SUB CONTRACTOR 9. Charge BOGUS fees 10. NO SHOW for installation on FRIDAY 11. It took them 4 hours to RETURN A CALL. 12. Only to be told we would NOT be getting installation on Friday but by Monday! I seriously could not have been more disappointed or disgusted with the service, charges, or quality of follow thru they had.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - be warned. The owner himself is the most unprofessional and as well all know the attitude 'starts from the top". March 2015 my disposal broke. Via HMS home warranty I was assigned this Dunn Rite. Initially, the office staff was responsive, setting up an appointment right away for Friday afternoon. I was having company Saturday evening so this needed to be done quickly. Late Friday afternoon, I received a call from the plumber requesting to come out early Saturday am. The job he had been on that day had taken longer than expected and he lived less than a mile from my home. I agreed with the assurance that he would be at my house at 8am the next morning. He no showed, no called, nothing. My repeated calls to the company went unanswered until noon. The owner, Duane, called stating he was sorry, but the junior plumber 'had tied one on the night before' and wasn't able to come out as promised. Duane came out, did the repair and said they would be in touch to get the other things done. I set four separate appointments for them to come out. Each time this same 'junior' plumber was assigned. I requested another person since this guy couldn't seem to make it to my house. Per a message from Duane, the owner, via his assistant "I would have to use the guy since he lived less than a mile from my house". Needless to say, they were fired and I ended up using another company and doing some of the repairs my self.
Fast forward a year and I received an email from Dunn Rite asking for me to use there services again. What a joke! I responded with a similar review as I am leaving here and guess what? NO response. Not even an apology.

The service was good but now that the toilet is used more regularly the toilet never stopped running. They came out today on what I was told was something under warranty to fix that issue. What the problem turned out to be was a toilet handle that was angled so it would always have an issue. I was charged another $95 for something that should have been taken care of the first time they were out. I called to offer to pay half since this was not wear and tear but an item overlooked the fist time and the owner felt it was right to charge full price for a visit. HORRIBLE customer service and I would never recommend them, if you pay for a toilet tuneup please do a full toilet tuneup and not charge for more in less than 3 months.

First of all, they could not have been nicer and I feel bad giving a bad report. The person setting up the appointment and the technicians who did the work were very nice and professional in their behavior. I think part of the problem is actually Angie's List and how it is being utilized by providers. But, there is no way that a new toilet flap should have cost me $230.00.
I bought an Angie's List special deal for getting my toilets tuned up for $89.00 because one of my toilets was running for about 15 second every hour.
When I set up the appointment, I told them there was only one toilet and that it had been a problem in the past because it is not a typical toilet. It is an American Standard toilet from Home Depot but evidently, but it has an unusual 3 inch flapper.
The technician came to my house and said, "I don't have a part for this toilet" but , he replaced the shut off float and said we would see if that solved the problem. By the end of the day, it was obvious that this did not fix the problem.
Dun-Rite offered that I could find the part and they would install it for $125.00 or, they could supply the part and still install it for $125.00. I am not a plumber and I have no knowledge of plumbing parts, so I elected to let them do it. It took a couple of weeks for them to get the part.
They finally got it done yesterday and it seems to be holding. I don't think they should have charged me the additional $125.00 because they did not fix the problem on the first visit, there should have been some guarantee for their work. But, as anyone living in the Washington DC area knows, getting someone to work in your house on a small repair can be a nightmare, so I went with the company that had started the repair instead of undergoing the stress of finding a new company and have them start the entire process again.
I will think very carefully before I take any more Angie's List special deals because I think I could have saved money by requesting a free estimate instead, which a lot of companies offer.

When (in a panicked mode) I called them, their dispatcher was calm and friendly and promised someone would call us back within the hour. Pat called us within 30 minutes, and was at our house in another 30. He fixed our pipe in about an hour and was extremely professional. We will definitely use this company again!

This is bait and switch! They sent a junior plumber to unclog the drain with a power flush and I was told that this would be an additional charge of $350. The junior plumber said he had never seen plumbing like this (I have a separate pipe for the disposal and dishwasher) and said he was going to tear up the wall. When I told him that wasn't going to happen, he said he wanted to get the owner out, and after three separate that the owner promised to be there, he never showed. I was then told that, for them to come out to make the repairs, there would be another of $350 plus parts and travel, which would be $125. Do not use Dun-Rite Plumbing & Heating Llc!

Mr. Browning was great! They were booked for the day, but said they would try to get me in between jobs. He called in the afternoon and said he would be there in 20 minutes. He was right on time. He was extremely professional and didn't make me feel like an idiot, even though I felt like one, once I realized what I did. Regardless, I need maintenance done in the Fall and will definitely be calling this company to get that taken care of.

Issue was resolved in a timely manner and plumber checked water pressure after repair. Scheduling was very easy and plumber was very timely with our scheduled appointment. Both the plumber and office communicated very well. Great job!

- Contacted the company on April 19, 2015 and per the "coupon" selected three possible dates for the work to perform. I selected three mornings more than a week in advance (April 27, 28 or 30th). on April 21, I was contacted and asked if I could have the work done in afternoon of the coming week. My prior tenants were moving so it was not an option. On the 22nd, we finalized that a technician would be at the townhouse at 9am on April 30.
- At 9:30am on April 30 I contacted the company to find out where the technician was. After a long period on hold, they apologized and said that there was a scheduling problem and that a technician would be there within 1/2 hour. (Snafu's happen so no harm in them fixing the problem). However, the technician did not show up until 10:50 ( almost 60 minutes after I was told the technician would arrive).
- When the technician arrived, he apologized profusely and then asked what needed to be fixed. (i.e. No one told him why a plumber was needed at my location). I then described to him the coupon that I had purchased off of Angie's list.
The first toilet he visited, he decided had to have its wax bowl ring replaced (as well as a fill valve). He stated to do this and then realized that he didn't have any chaulk. He asked me if I had any. Fortunately, I did. He spent a solid hour getting the toilet operational.
The second toilet he visited, he decided to could jerryrig to work for a bit but that a new toilet was urgently needed. He would have his company contact me immediately on a quote for a new toilet.
On the next two toilets, he added fill valves and tinkered with them. As for the home plumbing inspection, he waived an electronic device over our hot water heater and pronounced that it was fine.
At 2 o'clock, he presented me the bill for $345 for his work. The first hour he explained was covered by the coupon, but the next two hours were billable as were the supplies used. Given I had new tenants moving in, I thought $345 was a reasonable price to pay for no plumbing worries.
I was out of town for the next five days and when I returned on May 6 got a call from my new tenant. Three of the four toilets were running non-stop. Not wanting a repeat of my previous experience with Dun-Rite, I called another company.
The company sent a tech the next day. Within half an hour, he corrected the problems. All of which stemmed from the incorrect installation of fill valves and flappers. The new plummer also stated that the toilet that desperately needed to be replaced was working properly and no additional work was needed.
I contacted Dun-Rite by email. I stated that I wanted to discuss problems with the work done on my property and a partial refund of the money paid.
I promptly received a call from Dun-Rite. However, they were calling not in response to my email, but with a price quote on my toilet that "desperately needed to be fixed" (a week after the company was told of the problem). I said I didn't want to discuss a new toilet but the problems with the work done on my property. I was told that her supervisor would contact me.
No one ever called. After two more emails, on May 19, I was informed that I should not have hired someone else. I should have contacted them first to fix the problem.
In sum, I paid $89.95 (Angie's List) plus $345 (Dun-Rite) to get three toilets broken.

Duane Browning did a great job and did it efficiently. The faucets required some additional equipment to install, so Duane arranged to come back at my convenience to complete the job.
