Don's Appliance

Don's Appliance did work for one of my companies on a regular basis. Out of nowhere the receptionist called me and said that they would no longer service our calls because they could not understand one of my employees (he is Hispanic) I said I had no problem with relaying information if it made it easier, she said "no I have to do what Don wants and that is to not do your service calls" I asked her why was Don being discriminatory and racist? She hung up on me. I called her back, she picked up then hung up. This might end up in the Attorney General's Office

I was given a four-hour window and Don arrived on the early side of that window. He was friendly, professional and to-the-point. After a few minutes he determined the cause, suggested a solution and the repairs were complete in a timely and efficient manner.

We no longer had any ice in the refrigerator and were concerned that the refrigerator itself would need to be replaced (it's old).  Don, however, quickly determined that only the icemaker itself was broken.  He replaced it and we had so much ice we had to call him to find out how to slow it down!  Don did a great job and we would definitely call him again for service.

We've been using them for years.  We know them and trust them at this point.  They are very honest and responsive which sometimes it's hard with the bigger chains these days.  They have good personalize service.

     On the positive side, I cannot thank the repair person from Don's Appliances, Frederick, Maryland enough for his efficient service and candor in helping me assess whether it was worth repairing our twenty-plus (20-plus) year old dryer or not.

     Notwithstanding the above, I found this repair person condescending and patronizing with a know-it-all attitude.  Although I could be wrong, I attribute this attitude issue largely to the fact that I am a woman.

     Therefore, if you are female and are accustomed to/expect to be taken seriously and spoken to as an equal and competent person, then this company may not be for you.  On the other hand, if you are not female or even if you are, but don't mind being patronized, condescended to and/or not receiving any respect for your opinion(s), then this is the company you will want to call.

     Sadly, it was this distressing attitude on the part of this repairperson, that made what would otherwise have been a delightful and positive experience into one where I could not wait to get this individual out of my house and would never call this company again.

     I would like to add, gratuitously, that I am most grateful to Angie's List for providing this platform for consumers. 

Our refrigerator was not cooling properly. I called Don's Appliances
and the phone was answered by a PERSON! That person was polite and
friendly and responsive to my needs. Don came out the same day and
analyzed the problem. A part had to be ordered, but it came in quickly,
and he came back within two days to replace the part. I must add that
he did this in the midst of a personal family crisis -- a death in his
family. He actually called me to see if our fridge was holding up okay
before delaying the repair a day due to his family situation. If the
refrigerator's condition had worsened, he would have returned earlier.
I was so impressed with Don that I would definitely call him again with any appliance problem. I believe that he is honest, kind and concerned about his customers.

He now mahes ice plus he fixed my dish washer while he was here. He only charged 89.00 service are labor and 10699 for new ice mahes.

Don was punctual, informative, had the right parts, did the work and charged an fair price. We own a property management business and Don has done our appliance work for six years. There is a reason we continue to us his serives. He is good.

Don's App. came on time. He fixed the glass in the oven and was out the door in no time. I'm really glad that I called him.

Arrived on time. Worked quickly and efficiently. Friendly and competent.

Called several vendors on Friday. Of the people who returned phone calls, nobody could come on Saturday. Paul from Don's Appliances Friday evening, and fixedd the refrigerator on Saturday.

I HAVE HAD AN ABSOLUTELY GREAT EXPERIENCE. THEY ARE A VERY PROFESSIONAL AND SMART COMPANY. THEY ARE A LITTLE EXPENSIVE BUT I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO COMPARE IT TOO. THEY DID A GOOD JOB.

I ORIGINALLY CALLED SEARS FOR SERVICE, BUT WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T BE OUT FOR 2 WEEKS AND THEY CHARGE $65 JUST FOR COMING OUT. I THEN CALLED DON, HE CAME OUT THE NEXT DAY AND WAS VERY REASONABLE. I LIKE USING DON BECAUSE CALLING HIM IS LIKE CALLING A FRIEND.
