+ -1 moreMany unreturned calls and misleading information. Then the owner tells me that the price I was quoted was less than it should have been so she cannot discount further.
Description of Work: Ordered specialty glass with a 10-12 week lead time. 2 months later called to follow up and was told it was still on order and would be still about 10-12 weeks from THAT date. Apparently they had new office personnel and had fallen quite behind on orders. The owner explained that they had to recieve certian materials before they could produce my order. I have also left follow up messages that were never returned. 4 months later the order arrives unnanounced, outside of recieving hours, from a 3rd party vendor. Called to ask how this was so when initially we were told the hold up was that they were waiting to recieve the materials required to produce it and the owner said she "did what she had to get it made". 4 months after the order was placed and we were givin a 10-12 week lead time, we recieve it from a 3rd party.

+ -1 moreExcellent and easy. Took the door of the china cabinet to Dodson's and they measured and matched the radius of the curve. I had been told on the phone that if my match was in stock, they would cut and install it as I waited since I'd driven to Frederick from Arlington, VA; but that was not possible since their glass cutter was ill and not at work the day I arrived. No problem, I left the cabinet door and was called that the work was completed one week later. The work is done well and the price was very reasonable, based on other estimates I'd obtained. All family members are happy that great-great-grandmother's cabinet is again intact!
Description of Work: Needed to replace the curved glass in the front door of an antique china cabinet. We were referred to Dodson's by another glass and mirror company, Hutchinson Glass and Mirror, as Dodson's is the only manufacturer in the area of curved glass. I'm told that any other glass company in the region would be ordering their curved glass product from Dodson's, so by going direct to them you are minimizing your cost and time.
