Description of Work: Cut into my kitchen cabinent in order to fit my new refrigerator. Also installed a new ceiling light/fan in the kitchen.

Description of Work: Carpentry Plus added a frame and storm door to my front door. The door was not square so it took some adjustment. The color and style of the door was appropriate since it showed the red door that they had installed the previous year. Lovely job! I also had a serious problem with defective recessed lighting in the ceiling of my kitchen. There were 11 small 4 inch recessed lights installed when my kitchen was put in that were all defective and difficult or impossible to replace the bulbs when they wore out. I wanted to replace them with LEDS 4 inch. The installation seemed simple but required removal of the previous recessed cans and the new kits were not up to code and did not have one component. Mr Edwards who was doing the work refused to do a less than standards job and returned to the hardware store to purchase the required part. My dimmer switches also needed to be replaced since they turned out to be defective and would not hold the load. The job looks excellent. The lights are brilliant and save money over time. Plus the did an excellent job patching and painting the ceiling and around the lights so that the change is undetectable. They cleaned up after the job.

Description of Work: They replaced the window crossheads on the front of the house. They also did a little touch-up painting, although the crossheads came pre-painted.

Description of Work: Replaced front Entrance door and sidelites. Removed old door and removed just the sidelite glass frame not the entire panels on two sides. Replaced the old sidelites with clear glass panels, framed in the new door and made sure all was plumb. Patched and repainted the exterior framing and painted the door and sidelites inside and outside matching paints. Deadbolt and door handle replaced.

Description of Work: This company did such an excellent job on my front door that I hired them to remodel my sunporch into an art studio/family room. The original room had louvered windows, poor heat, was uninsulated, and had exposed exterior brick below the windows. Construction began with the removal and replacement of the windows which were also plumbed and squared. They were framed in and a longer sill/ledge built with molding underneath to add to the finish. The new windows are a higher R value and a new exterior door added. The ceiling was insulated and a trap door left, recessed lighting added and a new ceiling fan to replace the old. The lighting is on dimmer. The brick was framed and insulated, then drywalled. The drywall and trim painted. They even shoveled my driveway when it snowed. Door knobs and deadbolts replaced throughout.

Description of Work: This was an interior renovation and the renewal of a 28 year-old deck. The renovation involved a make-over in the kitchen and the adjacent family room. Cabinets were added to a small laundry room off the kitchen. Crown moulding was added to the dining and living rooms. The deck was renewed using the original footings and joists, and following the original design. New Trex decking, cap rail, and privacy screen were installed, as well as lattice skirting and new steps. In the kitchen, the original builder-grade cabinetry was removed and replaced with updated cabinetry. A small nonload-bearing wall was removed, as well as the island. The existing flooring was retained and well protected during the project. All existing lighting was removed. The existing appliances were retained and resited in their original locations except for the refrigerator which was moved left about 18 inches to make room for a new floor-to-ceiling pantry cabinet. A granite countertop was installed, with a granite backsplash, which was further topped with a decorative tile backsplash. A new undermount sink and faucet set were installed. In lieu of a new island, the design incorporated a pennisula which appoximated a "U" shape. Ten new recessed lights were installed in lieu of the lighting previously used. This really lightened up the room! A custom-made 46X80 bookshelf was installed. The family room renovation involved removing original panelling and replacing it with drywall. A custom-made beautiful 13-foot wide builtin cabinet/bookcase/entertainment center was installed on an end wall. The wall to wall rug was removed and replaced with a Bruce hardwood floor to match the floor in the dining room. Four recessed lights were installed as well as a flushmount ceiling fan. Other aspects of the project were painting of the kitchen and family room, new cabinets in the laundry and new paint there as well. New doors were installed on the laundry, existing pantry and foyer closet. All of this work was done in an extremely professional manner, with little wasted effort and with daily clean up. We allowed them the use of one side of the garage, which made staging the project materials very convenient.
