Overall the apartments are nice in a quiet culdesac with a small neighborhood of townhouses on one side.
Description of Work: I have rented at Crystal Park Apartments from Aug 2009-Aug 2012. I have to relocate to another state for job purposes or I would have considered at least one more year of rental before buying a home in the area. When I was viewing possible rentals in 2009 Crystal Park was the best value and floor plan layout for a decent 2 bedroom 2 bath in the area. Our apartment faced a gazebo walking path area. We had a decent balcony area with storage. The bathrooms had marble counter tops. The kitchen had a built in wine bottle holder (if you are in to that...we would have preferred an extra cabinet). The living room area had a wood burning fireplace (not these fake electrical ones). This was helpful for heating purposes during the snowpocalypse of 2010. Also, the powerlines are underground. Almost never had a power outage due to weather. The roads were well plowed in the winter because the apartments are basically downtown. However, no garages were available for rental. There were a few covered parking spaces available but they did not offer much shelter from the elements. You could choose from more than one floor plan depending on where you needed the most space. We chose to have a bigger living room area to fit our furniture. However, you can choose a plan with more space in the master bedroom. We got in just before a rent special ended. We started off at 1020/month plus utilities. The first year it went up to 1080/month plus utilities. The 3rd year it went up to 1175/month plus utilities. This is when we began looking at possibly buying. The complex is located basically in a small neighborhood tucked away near downtown Frederick. Access to 270 was very close and easy. The staff are professional for the most part. When I needed a repair done within the apartment it was done in a timely manner. We even had a maintenance person help us get a bird out of our apartment that flew in threw the balcony area. The only complaint would be THE INCREDIBLY THIN WALLS. As long as you have decent neighbors...no problem. Otherwise you will have an issue with loud music or loud TV's. If you happen to get a 1st or 2nd floor apartment you better hope your upstairs neighbors have no big dogs or kids running the floor.

The monthly rent I pay is really expensive for a one bedroom plus den, but they are really good people. Since it is so expensive, we are probably going to move out at the end of my second lease term as I can't afford it for now.
