ARTISTIC MASONRY CONTRACTORS

So glad we found Byron and Artistic Masonry Contractors. Very knowledgeable and professional. He took a close in-person look at the project and sent us a quote very promptly. We had some extensive repair work done on a large block stoop, they got us scheduled quickly and did beautiful work, checking in that we were satisfied along the way. They really know old houses and do quality work: we'll keep them in mind for our old brick home in the future.

Byron Hawkins is a craftsman of the highest order. For our landscaping work, he listened to what we wanted and advised alternatives that would save money but turn out even more beautiful. We also hired Artistic Masonry to do internal and external repointing of our 1890s home. Artistic Masonry was brought a precise, artistic and expert approach to the work. The team is highly professional: they started when they say they will start and finished on time and on budget. They always left the job site clean. Highly recommend Artistic Masonry and would definitely hire them again.

The work looked great and the crew was efficient, neat and courteous. The new mortar matched the original work perfectly. I would definitely recommend this company for brick and stonework.

Sloppy work, didn't repair problem bricks, wall was not level. This year, we removed the entire wall and had Technobloc installed (not by them). It looks great.

Only minor repointing was completed, no repairs. Several repairs were discussed several times and not made. The first repointing was sloppy, but they returned and cleaned it up. The wall was power washed and treated with chimney saver. However, the overall cost of the project was significant for the minimal amount of work done. I have attached pictures of the areas that required repair so you can see the sloppy work.

They?re pretty good! It was expensive, there was a bunch of them, it was probably about $200. We have used them for like 6 years now. Did a fine job! It is a very small operation and the fellow who runs it is Byron Hawkins. 

We have a large outdoor screened-in porch, when we moved in it was covered in old worn out indoor/outdoor carpeting on top of a poured concrete slab. The total on the entire job was $10,700 and I would give him a score of ?A?!

The main guy, Byron Hawkins was very experienced and was able to provide some insight as far as how to go about the job and the best product would look like. He was very helpful that way!   We did get other estimates. 

I first contacted Byron and he came out to provide an estimate.  He was very friendly and courteous and immediately knew what had to be done to correct the deficiencies.  Once the crew arrived to the do the work, they worked diligently until it was complete.  They removed all the deficient mortar and set about re-pointing the grout.  They were even able to insert a piece of rebar into the very old railing to secure it to the steps.  Overall, we are very pleased with their work and I would recommend Artistic Masonry for any masonry needs.  I gave him all A's except one B for price just because $2800 seemed a bit high for 1 1/2 days of work by 2 guys.  With that said, I don't have much experience contacting for masonry work, so this price could be extremely reasonable.  Regardless, I would use Artistic Masonry again for any masonry projects.

Byron came out and reviewed the job and gave me an estimate immediately. We accepted the estimate and he told me their schedule. It turned out they performed the work while we were away on vacation. When we returned and I reviewed the work, I discovered they had missed two repair sites. I called and they returned within 2 days to complete the work. The work quality is excellent. This is the 3rd time I have used Artistic Masonry over the last 15 years and their service and quality have always been top notch.

Three separate projects were completed by Artistic Masonry Contractors at my home which included landscaping and foundation prep for future carport and patio, including a specialty garden and two smaller front and backside decks with framing and abutments. Excellent, quality work from start to finish. Artistic Masonry Contractors worked within my projected budget and time-to-task completed each project with professional attention to each request.
