To preface, the manager and points of contact were always friendly and returned calls/inquiries promptly. Now, here's the ugly:
While out of the country recently, Anna's came by for their usual biweekly cleaning. Our agreement from the beginning was that the cleaning crew would use the exterior lock box to get the key to enter the house and afterwards return the key to the box. I use the box as well - in case I lock myself out of the house, etc. And, it's happened - I think we've all been there.
This week for my cleaning, I got a call late morning from Claudia. Apparently, the key wasn't in the box and the cleaning crew had to leave since they couldn't get in the house. I told her I was at work and would have to call back later. I hadn't opened the lockbox since returning from my trip, so I panicked. Who took the key?? How did this happen, etc.? That afternoon - to be safe - I called a lock company to schedule an appointment to have my locks rekeyed. I don't have a security system so I didn't want to be up at night worrying about this. I needed peace of mind.
*****About an hour after I scheduled the lock appointment to have everything re-keyed, Anita's emailed me and said they found the house key in their office. Apparently the lady that cleaned that day took it with her and back to the office. Why did it take them two weeks to figure this out? Why didn't they communicate better with their staff? Oh, for the inconvenience they kindly offered me $20 off my next cleaning. Really?! After all that - I get an apology and $20 discount? Um, that's a slap in the face. I called the next morning in response to the email and mentioned I wouldn't use their service anymore since I couldn't trust them. I also mentioned I'd send them the bill for the cost of rekeying my locks, which came to $150. They did offer to send their own handyman out to do it, which I declined.
Some might not view this as a big deal but if I'm paying good money for a service, I want to know my home and its belongings are in the best of care. I don't want to have to stress about these sort of things.
Anna's Cleaning Service is by far the BEST we've ever used! The 3 women Angie, Claudia and Delmay are superb! The are on time, meticulous and very professional! I would highly recommend this house cleaning service. The business owner Rina is responsive and very interested in providing exceptional service to her clients!
