The inspector inspected each room thoroughly offering recommendations for a few parts of the house that needed work. The inspection report was easy to read and refer to later. Additionally, pictures were provided in the report to help the home owner identify what specifically needed fixed.
Description of Work: Inspected all electrical outlets, appliances, etc.

(FYI - I am writing this almost two years late because I couldn't find the name of the company after I joined Angie's List. I just received an offer in the mail from them so I can now review them.) The inspector was nice, however it seemed that he was only concerned with minor, superficial things, not structural or other major issues. He missed the HUGE crack in the foundation and water damage in the basement, the exposed (and ancient) electrical), the mold and the bathroom window and wall that were basically held together with caulk. He did tell me I should make the owner fix the toilet because it rocked a little. Are you kidding me??? Perhaps if I had called Alban's management when I started discovering these issues they would have made it right, however the contract they (and all other inspectors) have you sign basically says that they are not responsible for things they missed. Regardless, this was a terrible experience and I truly hope that they are more aware and better-trained inspectors out there. I would definitely NOT use this company again.

Inspector missed many things when conducting inspection which has resulting my having to take care of a number of issues since moving in last May, including (most recently) replacing the A/C + heating unit for the first floor of my house, which cost about $9k - due to needing to install an outdoor unit, plus replace significant amounts of duct work, run new electrical, etc. HVAC folks who looked at the unit when I was planning to replace said that it was blatantly obvious that the unit was problematic (and installed incorrectly) and that, at a minimum, I should have been told to get an HVAC person to take a look before closing on the house.

The home inspector for Alban, Robert ?Jose? Montiel did an outstanding job. He is the consummate professional. He was always on time and very thorough and gave us a lot of advice on many items that helped us a lot not only for the purchase but the maintenance of the home. He also did a great job on the follow-up inspection, Radon check, RecallCHEK, etc.

At the time, it seemed to go alright. However, a few weeks later when I took possession of the house, it was quickly apparent there were major problems with the heating air flow and efficiency. As I worked on the house, more items the inspector missed (like no GFI in a bathroom, a sliding door was only partially locked, the cut-off on the furnace did not work, a leak under the kitchen sink) became apparent. As part of the "premium" package, the inspector was scheduled to return to the property for the final walk through to verify repairs had been made. He could not attend due to weather, but came two days after the closing. He acknowledged the heating was not "satisfactory" as indicated in the report. I have contacted the company to report the items and that I felt of six properties over the years to which I've been a party to the purchase, this was the worst inspection. I've been told I'll be receiving a refund of the inspection fee. The expenses of the repairs are going to far exceed that amount, however.
