We purchased the 409.00 deal. So we expected to pay 409.00 plus some charges for extra mileage. We got a prompt call back from them and they required us to fill out a questionnaire about what we need to move and where it needed to be moved. I thought this was odd since we purchased a "deal" but we complied. We then received a quote back from them. It was over 1500.00. They estimated it would take 9 hours to move my items. Since we were moving less than 15 miles away into a two bedroom home we were surprised by this. (So was the subsequent mover who moved our whole house and set up our bed and all inside of 3 hours) . We wanted to move on Feb 14 and we were told it was a holiday so there would be extra charges for moving on that day. Although February 14 is my birthday, I am 56 years old and have never been told it was a holiday. The movers were coming from somewhere near Washington so that accounted for additional mileage but di not account for charging me 9 hours to move and did not account for charging extra on the holiday. On top of it all, when we called to discuss the quote on the phone the woman was rude to us. We were surprised by all of this since we bought a 409.00 deal. We said "can't you just move us for 4 hours, then stop and go home if you aren't done?" "We don't do things that way". Ultimately we contacted Angie's list and they refunded the money we spent on the deal and we used another mover. Our move took about 3 hours and cost us 500.00 total. All furniture is covered in standard quilted furniture padding, extra protection is available for purchase, such as; plastic shrink wrap, boxes, bubble wrap, seat and mattress covers. All items that we disassemble will be reassemble by your service team. We do not take responsibility for any item disassembled, reassembled, moved, or packed by the customer. Payment policy Payment for services completed is due at the end of the service. Your estimate was based on the following factors: 1.) The size and amount of items indicated on your estimate information form. 2.) The stairs at your move out residence. Larger items can sometimes be difficult to maneuver up or down stairways slowing the team a bit. 3.) The travel time and distance between your two residences. Please note that a loaded box truck moves slower than a car. 4.) There being no stairs at the move in residence. Please note that if there are any flights of stairs there may be an increase in your estimated time and cost. 5.) The return trip for changing out the refrigerators and washers and dryers. This incurs a second Mileage Fee ( $65.00 per pick up/drop off location for up to 25 miles, $0.79 per mile over 25). 6.) The disassembling and reassembling of 2 beds. On average it takes 10 to 15 minutes and 15 to 20 minutes if tools are required. 7.) The mattress covers. Mattress covers are standard with all services. You may waive the use of these covers, however by doing so you waive the liability of Motivational Movers, LLC, for any dust, dirt, nicks or tears that may occur to these delicate items. Remember, we only bill for time used not the time estimated. We do have a few tips that may help you to save on time: if you are making a trip to your new residence take a couple of small boxes or items along with you, disassemble the beds, and place all boxes and other small items to be moved by the movers on the main level, or by the door or closest room to the door. These items will be moved first and this prevents having to search the house to make sure we have them all before loading furniture. We have had customers in the past who have saved up to 2 hours of time by using these time saving tips! The date you requested Friday, February 14, 2014 is currently open. However, please note that this date is a holiday and would incur a $15/hour rate increase. We also have availability on February 13 and 15, 2014.
