Long and short her practices are suspect. I was purchasing a short sale home and put a contract on the home on March 5, 2010. At her insistence, I provided my pay stubs and bank statements for March and was pre-approved for a loan. Now a short sale can take a long time as I didn't close on this house until August 8, 2010. In April, Ms. Scott asked me for more pay stubs. I said, wait, I sent you March's stubs. She replied that she needed each of my pay stubs up until closing on the home. I was like this didn't sound right so I did some checking. My two credit unions (I went to National Fidelity Mortgage for an FHA loan which my credit unions didn't provide) stated they didn't know why pay stubs would be needed each pay period until closing if there wasn't a valid contract. The contract on the short sale home would not be valid until it was approved by the seller's banks...which is why short sales take so long. Additionally I found out the underwriter would not take any documentation other than the last two pay stubs upon contract approval. I have an email exchange with Ms. Scott in which I basically fired her and her mortgage company. Don't let these people take advantage of you nor make you feel like you're at their mercy.
