Dave and son did job themselves. It went slightly longer and more expensive than planned, but end result was good and fair price. Would have been great had he put in the oval toilet like I asked instead of the round.

Horrible Mr. Steck did not live up to contract gave humble numerous times to comply to the remodeling the bathroom job half done not happy with results very polite young man but that doesn’t make it better. I decided to let him go because of his business ethics.

Very professional, clean, dependable. I felt comfortable enough to leave him my house key to work on the project while I was at work. 2 bathrooms were retiled, one had a new tub and the other the tub removed and made into a beautiful shower. LOVE it! Dave has checked in on a regular basis to ask how everything is. He really cares about his work and his customers.

After calling them and setting an appointment they arrived on time, they said they'd be in touch. After six weeks, I contacted them. They said they'd sent me something...that was never received. They took my email address and said they'd send a quote. It's been a month. I'm cancelling the order and want my deposit returned.

Always had some reason why they could not get here, they were a NO show about 15 times. Told me the job would be done in a week and it took 6 weeks! They would not return phone calls, if they told you that they would be their at 10am, they would show up at noon. I ended up finishing some minor thing in the bathroom.

He was very creative. He bought a cabinet that fit and cut it to fit the angle and then re-attached the back panel himself. I had one company that said they wouldn't even touch it and other ones that had a different vision than us. We went to his contractors and picked out the colors and granite we wanted. It was very smooth. It is a family business.

new tub, tile, painted it, they were great. I gave them my key and i went to work. They kept me updated. The tub they took out was too big, they identified the problems and fixed them with my permission, It was awesome!

Bought the Angieslist coupon and upgraded the shower pan and vanity. Dave and his son are honest and hard working contractors. Job took about 5 or 6 days.

It went well but it cost more than I planned for. I upgraded from ceramic to porcelain tile. Cast iron tub removal was extra. Ripping up the old mud set tile floor was costly. The end result is very pleasing and functional.

Steck stands behind their work.  David Steck has been proven to be a reliable, honest, professional contractor.  3 years ago he installed a new bathroom in my home, and I recently needed a repair done to the shower regulator.  He responded immediately to my phone call, and arrived at home, at my convenience, to make the repair.  Over the years he has proven to be the kind of contractor you hope to hire, and I plan to use him for future jobs.  Today's repair was at no cost to me.

Things went okay. The only problem with them is that I wish they would give you a contract or something else in writing with what they are going to do and the charges for what they are doing. Other than that, it was fine. I paid more than the $1,499 because I wanted to upgrade on the material that they have attached for. The additional cost was about $800.

Six years ago my husband and I contracted with Steck Builders for a remodeled kitchen. We had looked in a lot of showrooms and at a lot of pictures so we had specific things in mind when we had three contractors each come to our home and give estimates. We told Mr. Steck at this first meeting our concerns about space and storage because our kitchen is very small. When my husband and I spoke of a specific color of vinyl flooring, Mr. Steck suggested a ceramic flooring in the same color for the same price. We liked this suggestion and was the main reason we chose Steck. We could see Mr.Steck knew his business, but he did some things we did not like. He said the job would take five days. It took three weeks. He seemed to have other things going on and actually lied once about coming one day and finding no one home. We were both home. Another day Mr.Steck told us he would be putting new drywall on the largest wall. We were sitting in the next room assuming everything was okay, but after he left we realized he had put new drywall over old drywall. This was a major concern to us because----as we had had said in the beginning---our kitchen is very small. This made the room even smaller. My husband who is every handy himself
, never dreamed anyone would do anything like that. In short, Mr. Steck knows his business, but his focus is not on the concerns of his clients. Steck's focus is on his own convenience.
I "...never dreamed anyone would do anything like that.". Eight months later the veneer peeled away from the end cabinet. My husband called Steck to come to see the problem. Steck came and made an appointment with my husband to glue the veneer back. After Steck failed to show up for the appointment, my husband wrote a formal complaint to the Maryland Home Improvement Commission. Some time later---apparently after Commission notification Steck called to install a new cabinet! We remembered Steck had received an " inside" cabinet by mistake but said it would be alright because he had veneer to glue on.

Dave gave my shower a great new look. He did a very  good job overall .He is a pleasant person to have and work  for you.
He left the area he worked in very clean before leaving for the day .I really appreciate the distance he traveled every day  [ 70 miles ] and still was a pleasant person.

Work was very orderly and quick. Involved two days but took less than two 8 hour days. Thought it would take 3 or 4 days. Tile work was excellent and clean up was very thorough. I would absolutely recommend Dave Steck to everyone.

I had them redo the floors, walls, put in a new shower and everything. They didn’t contact me at first, so I had to contact them. Other than that, they were fine. They did the work in a very reasonable time. The pricing was fine and they were reasonable in terms of making good on what they were supposed to do. Initially, they did not install the toilet I had asked for, but when I told them they put in the wrong one, there was no problem, they immediately put in the right one. I feel that I got a good value for my money.

They did a fantastic job.
They were very professional, they wouldn't complete any phase of the work unless we first approved it.
Their service was more than we expected.
I'm planning to replace flooring in the next  year and Steck Construction will be our choice.
