Very professional, very quick, very informative. Overall great company. Workers were professional and respectful.

The driveway is beautiful, smooth, flat and level. Mr. Bennett left my yard very neat and tidy. I didn't think it would be this much of an improvement-just looks great. Very professional.

Contracted for the work on 29 April 2014 and were told the work would be completed in June. In September, contacted the R.D. Bennett via e-mail and ask if I was going to have to find another contractor since he hadn't completed the work yet as stated. He then called me and stated he would be starting the work on Monday 8 September. On September 8th, he and his crew finally showed up and removed both the existing sidewalk and patio. They poured the sidewalk and set the forms up for the patio. On September 10, they poured the patio. The patio and landscaping were not complete as discussed and contracted for. During this process, they also cut my TV cable even though it was marked.

The contract called for high strength, 4000 psi mix, reinforced with 1/2" rebar and fiber mesh. All grounds disturbed by construction will be backfilled with sifted topsoil, seeded and strawed.

It was agreed upon that 6-inch PVC pipe would be dug in around the patio for the drainage from my roofs downspout. Instead, when I returned home from work, they had used their bobcat to remove approximately 6-inches of dirt around the patio for drainage. At that time, I told him that this was not going to work and he stated that they used a lazar to check the levelness and it would drain around the patio. Well it doesn?t and I now have a puddle and mud every time it rains, not to mention the ice I now get right outside my garage in the winter months. Additionally, with the poor drainage, I cannot close my side door on the garage due to water freezing and pushing the door up. They also ruined my blacktop driveway next to the patio and garage from constantly running over it with their equipment. Will have to replace the blacktop now.

The topsoil use around the work was not clean or sifted. Lastly, it has only been 6-months and both the sidewalk and patio are cracked. The patio was supposed to be poured 6-inches thick with a footer and I would be able to build a sunroom on it. Not sure I can even do that with it cracking already.

Beyond my expectations in customer service!  Called in early March to get an estimate to have my driveway replaced.  The winter cold and snow caused my driveway to crack and sink.  I did some research before I started to get my estimates, so I knew what I wanted and what was needed.  I spoke directly with the owner, Don Bennett.  I asked my questions and he gave me the answers I wanted to hear about driveway as far as concrete thickness, expansion joints,  and concrete grade.  Estimate prepared.  We discussed adding the sidewalk after the initial estimate.  I agreed to have the work done.  Contract mailed to my home.  Work proceeded as schedule.  It took two days to complete the job.  The company went beyond my expectation when they dug out the grass between the flower bed and the new sidewalk.  RD Bennett even put down mulch in my extended flower bed as well as reseeded my lawn where the wood forms were placed while the concrete was poured.  Highly recommend this contractor!

He came out the day prior to scope out the job, and that only took 20 minutes. They came out the next day to do the job. The job only took 5 hours to pour the concrete. The entire process was very quick.

Don is very experienced and very focused on delivering a quality job for his customers. This was our first experience with RD Bennett and we will use them again in the future.

The center driveway low spot got my attention first.  Wrote Mr. Bennett a letter and told him of the problem and I thought it was due to a high slump mix-too wet a cement mix that shrunk.  I stated the mix was too soupy and had a slump of "0", meaning it was not measurable.  He did not respond to my letter.  About 2 weeks after the letter I happen to meet him on another job he was doing and ask him if he got my letter and he said yes.  He also stated there was no such thing as a "0" slump.  I told him I was being sarcastic.  He never volunteered to look at the driveway and offer any solution.  After waiting several months I decided to contact the State for assistance.  Mr. Bennett replaced the center section at no cost.  He told me the expansion material was a factory problem during the manufacturing process and never offered to replace it.  I was not aware of the low spots in front of the garage at that time and only noticed later.  I did not wish to go through the process of having it redone since I did not include it in the first complaint.  Mr. Bennett was very affable through the process but the end product was not professionally done.

Don is excellent.  We had him chip out and remove our original concrete garage floor which was not done very well to begin with (1970) and replace it with a new one.  The new floor is a 5" thick pour of 4000 psi concrete reinforced with #4 rebar and fiber mesh....  sealed with a cure-n-seal with shark grip to rough it up and make it non-slip.  This was all done very efficiently in 2 days and it looks great. | |We had other people price this...  one was more than double...  for a 4" pour...  they offered to beat any one else's price...  which ALWAYS makes me suspicious...  how about just pricing it right in the first place.  That's what Don did.  I wish we had more concrete work to do...  he would be my first and only call.  Don is also a nice guy...  straight shooter...

Mr. Bennett is one of the nicest, and most efficient, contractors we have worked with. He agreed to meet me at our house on a Saturday morning to go over the project and what we wanted done.  I signed the contract and the work was flawlessly performed 3 days later. 
I received a phone call from him in the morning just after they got the concrete forms set.  The new landing and walkway was elevated a decent bit higher than the surrounding yard so he offered to go pick up a dump truck load of topsoil and spread it around the house to help with water flow and drainage, and build new flower beds around the concrete walk.  I am SO glad he called and asked us about that, as it transformed our yard!  He got all the work done in one day, arriving a little after 7am and leaving around 6:45pm that evening.  Talk about work ethic! 
Not only was he able to accommodate our needs, he also suggested other work that we could do around the yard to further aid water drainage and plant growth.  We look forward to having him come back out in the next few months to have him regrade our side yard, bury our drain pipes and install a new patio.

In a word, amazing. Our front steps are close to 64 years old, and had begun to crumble.
Don responded quickly and enthusiastically to our request for a quote, came out himself to estimate the work and was very forthcoming & upfront about the potential challenges of the job, what he could do to help up and what sort of results to expect.
It seems like few tradesmen these days care about quality, instead being more focused on getting the job done as quickly and cheaply as possible so they can collect their check and move on. Not so with RD Bennett. Not by a long shot. Don and his crew showed up exactly when they said that they would, promptly got to work and did an outstanding job. Our steps look brand new, and are probably stronger now than when they were originally poured.
These folks pay attention to detail, do what they promise and when they promised it, and clearly care about providing exceptional quality & going the extra mile. We would highly recommend them without reservation to anyone seeking to have concrete work done. You'll be glad that you gave Don a call.

I called the company on 2/10 and the owner called back the same day.  He came out to give an estimate on 2/13.  Per the website on Angie's List, I was not sure if he would provide service in my area, but he was able to do so. Due to a mild winter, he was able to start work about a month later.  Entire process took two or three days and was able to walk on the concrete the same or next day. Other than some cement residue on nearby holly tree, which I did not mention to the contractor, the work was neat and efficient.

Job went extremely well!!  We couldn't be happier.  Mr. Bennett explained everthing before they started the work and made me feel very comfortable.  The hole is filled and our house is back in 1 piece and looks great.

The owner responded quickly to our call.  He provided an estimate very promptly and we were able to find a date to commence work that was suitable for both of us.  The work was finished in four days.  He talked to us everyday and cleaned up the workspace every evening.  He wanted to wait until job was finished to our satisfaction before being paid anything.
We are delighted with the solution to our runoff problems and with the look of the driveway and new porch.

I was more than happy with the work done. We talked about unrelated items that we might do in the future. He was very professional and the reason I chose him was because not only before the work did he explain the process, but during the work in much detail, and that I appreciated. The price was reasonable especially for the level of detail he used.

Kind, professional, and efficient. Kept us updated about his schedule (had lots of rain which delayed his work) and despite the rain and how busy he was, the time between giving the estimate to the date of the project was only about 2.5 weeks. Called us ahead of time to confirm the date, arrived bright and early on Monday morning, and project was finished that afternoon when I came home from work. Highly recommended!

Removed old patio. Poured new patio and repaired steps leading to basement entryway.

All work was completed expeditiously with a minimum of inconvenience to our family. The work area was graded and reseeded to our specifications and left clean.
