This was by far the most professional and thorough Home Inspection that I could have asked for. The Inspector came out and went through the house with a fine toothed comb. My home is being prepared for sale and I was in need of an honest and complete home inspection. Neal is astute in his field, and you can see that as he works. Focused and informed, his years of experience show. His knowledge of the proper workings and mechanics of a home, from a technical standpoint are impressive. I felt so relieved that I had his Company to rely on for this important step in my process. I have already referred him to others looking to have an inspection done. This indeed, has been money VERY well spent!

It went terrible. He was so busy talking to the owner of the house I was not really able to ask questions and boy did he miss a lot of things. Wood rot, cracked gutters, poor ventilation, and much more. Being a first time home owner he being the one with experience he should have known not to talk to the owners while doing the inspection. He missed things because the owners were distracting him and following him around the house. I have complained to the real estate agents that the owners should not have been there and that is a problem. When we went to him and told him about the items he missed he was not responsive and did not think he missed them. Worst home inspection ever (being my first one I know what not to do for 2nd house). I would never recommend him to anyone. Also radon test is old technology and I think that the owners messed with it and there is no way of proving that they did but I feel that he needs to retake his inspection test.

Our realtor recommended Neil for our home inspection. I wish I would have done my own searching for an inspector. He talks entirely way too much! He missed a leaky dishwasher, cracked deck railing, cracked toilet tank and crack in the foundation. Over priced and under performed. When approached about items missed his response was "A home inspection is not a warranty" He flat out whiffed on our inspection. Now we're out thousands in repairs plus the $700 we paid him. When he took a phone call during the inspection from what seemed to be an unhappy client I should have ended it right there! Too many better qualified more affordable inspectors out there.

Neal inspected our soon-to-be first home, a formerly dilapidated, three-story rowhouse in Baltimore City, that had been completely gutted and rehabbed over the past 7 months.

He was extremely through - not the least bit distracted by our very chatty realtor. He took the time to explain why we should be concerned about certain items and sent us both of our reports in less than 24 hours.

We're forever indebted to our friends for recommending him to us.

The seller said "I hate your home inspector.  I mean he is a nice guy and everything, but I hate him."  That says it all.  This was a very thorough inspection of a log home.  The list of issues identified were too long to list.  Two follow-up visits to review issues resolved (or in my case, not resolved).  He was referred to me by someone who has a long standing reputation in the industry and I couldn't be more pleased.  The inspection took more time than expected, he was on time to the scheduled visits, prompt with the detailed follow-up report, and very responsive both via e-mail and phone.  Overall, I underpaid him for the value provided.

Extremely thorough and knowledgeable. Neal was at the house a few minutes early and immediately started checking out the property. The inspection ran a little over two and a half hours and the report was in my inbox a few hours later. I will definitely use American Inspection Group again if I need an inspection.
