Description of Work: David Zicha has done many services for us over the years. We were one of his first customers when he opened his business. He has replaced the hot water tank, the well tanks, many washers, etc. When our kitchen flooded he found the source of water behind the dishwasher; a pinhole in the copper water line.

+ 0 moreDavid Zicha responded to my call quickly and arranged to come to my home. I had installed a new bathroom faucet but it was leaking. He checked out the installation and found that the leak was from a loose connection which he fixed. He then installed the pop-up drain stopper. In doing so, he discovered that the original drain had an improper part so he fixed that as well. He was speedy, tidy, and very personable. He charged me for one hour of service for the entire job.
Description of Work: Consulted for a leaking bathroom faucet.

+ -1 moreDavid came out the day I called, assessed the situation and returned with the necessary equipment to fix the initial problem quickly. He was very thoughtful about handling the problem both to prevent leakage in the process and to correct an issue with the original installation. David worked quickly and efficiently and was careful to keep my home clean in the process. His pricing is fair and, for my disposal installation, much less than the price quoted by large plumbing company. He took the time to explain what needed to be done, why it needed to be done, and what the options were so I could make an informed decision.
Description of Work: I was referred to David Zicha by a general contractor I know and trust. David was responsive, knowledgable about Baltimore County codes, and thorough. I had an issue with an up-flush bathroom pump which David fixed quickly despite having to work in a very tight and awkward area. In addition, he installed new plumbing for a garbage disposal and added shut-offs for gas lines.

He is very knowledgeable about the plumbing codes for Carroll County and explains options and solutions clearly so you can make an informed decision. Be advised that David has a strong accent (from Czech Republic) that is hard to understand over the phone at first. But when you talk to him in person it is no problem at all. He is very friendly, knowledgeable and fair. He will be our plumber for a long time...
Description of Work: We had our old farm house (pre-civil war) completely redone with 100% all new plumbing for the old part and all new plumbing for the new addition we added on the second story. The existing plumbing in our house was leaking in multiple places, had improper venting and several other issues that were not to code. David removed all of the existing plumbing to include getting in the crawl space and root cellar and attic, and built an entire new pluming system that is done to code (or better) and will now be properly vented. He uses excellent quality materials and everything is done with attention to detail. The project included two full baths on 2nd floor which includes 3 sinks, 2 shower stalls, 2 toilets, and one garden tub. The first floor includes a half bath with just a toilet and sink, the kitchen has a sink and dishwasher and hook up for ice maker in the fridge. The utility room includes washing machine hook up, utility sink, outside hose bib and all tied into existing water treatment system and water heater.

+ -1 moreIt went very well. The guy plans ahead and knows what kind of potential problems you might run into later. This was important when installing the dishwasher because of the new cabinets going in (this was not an easy job). He also uses high pressure flexible hose wherever he needs to run that type of line (like to the ice machine to the fridge.) High pressure, shielded lines are less likely to break, (like that simple plastic tubing that some guy at work told me he used and it burst, which flooded his basement). So I got a high quality job done at a fair price (nothing wrong with a fair price, it's a fair days pay for a fair days work). The dishwasher works well. and he installed the bathroom faucets correctly, the drain stoppers actually come up high enough to drain the sinks properly.
Description of Work: Mr Zicha, the owner of this company, installed a dishwasher (new install, no dishwasher was there previously), installed the water to the refrigerator, installed the kitchen sink drain, and installed the kitchen faucet and 4 bathroom faucets. So new lines had to be installed for the kitchen project.
