This company repaired a leak caused by a contractor error. We paid them and submitted to contractor to submit to their insurance company. Service Today will only provide a lump sum invoice which insurance company will not accept. They must have their reason for not providing a proper invoice, or providing invoice notes as stated on invoice. Overcharging? Shady company!

I was pressured into making a quick decision on a new air conditioning system after I asked for more time. He said, "oh, we can finish this quickly" when I said I had a meeting to get to. Even though technically he did not "force" me to do anything, I think it is unethical to NOT give a person more time when they say they want it. I told him I had a meeting and asked to postpone. It makes me wonder what else the company is unethical about. Perhaps he was afraid that if I reviewed my research, I would see that their product and service were overpriced. I told him all this directly on the phone. ALSO, the system is making static-y crunching noises. When he returned my call, he asked me to tell him about the noise. I HAD SENT AN AUDIO RECORDING!!! I am hoping that can be fixed in a timely manner, or I will have an indisputable complaint that cannot be dismissed as "But you said..." A brand new system should not make strange noises. I would not recommend this company.

Initial call was friendly and able to schedule same day service, just like they say. Tech called about 45 minutes prior to arrival. I gave him more information on the phone about my low water pressure on our well system. He suggested that my bladder tank had malfunctioned. Over the phone he gave a estimate of $2,500 to replace it. This was totally insane! I had previously looked at the tanks guessing it might have been the problem and in every store in the area the tank was around $219 or so. After my initial shock the tech claimed that this was the going rate due to Service Today being a large company, lots of overhead, etc. So in the end, I decided to go ahead and replace it myself at a cost of $219.

To begging I had an appointment between 8am and 12 pm. When no one showed by 1230 pm I called and was informed he only had one customer before me and must have been delayed. I asked why I at least was not given a courtesy call and CSR couldn’t provide an explanation. He did offer to reschedule me for the 1st stop the following day. They did arrive at 8 am and I was provided a cost of $412.00 to install 1 ceiling fan. Mind you all the wiring was in place and just a matter of securing to the ceiling and attaching the wires. Naturally I declined this extremely ridiculous rate. The most aggravating part of this whole thing is that even though they missed the original appointment and I was not provided a courtesy call the still charged me the $49.00 service charge. I don’t usually write reviews but with the lack of customer service and ridiculous high pricing I figured this was a good time to warn others.

They worked on an eighty year old man's Geo Thermal system 15 times charging him $7,441.00 over seven months and could not repair the system. I would not trust them with your family's house or friend.

We presently have a two-year service contract with Service Today. Since the beginning of that contract we received an annual cleaning and maintenance visit that was satisfactory and friendly. Our problems began last Saturday evening, Dec. 17, 2016, when our furnace stopped working. A serviceman came the next afternoon and diagnosed the problem as a bad blower and control unit. He was polite and told us that someone would call us in the morning (Mon.) about the part and would make arrangements for the repair. As it happened, there was no attempt by Service Today to call us on Monday and the temperatures outside were below freezing. I called Monday morning and afternoon but received no information about when the repair might be made. The only response I received was that they would come as soon as they found the new part. The next two days were equally cold and my wife and I lived in our house wearing our winter coats. Temperatures inside the house got down to 38 degrees F. at night and we were forced to huddle around a small portable electric heater. I continued to call them at least two times a day but never received a response except that they were still looking for the part, first in Salisbury, MD (Monday) and later in Pennsylvania, (Tuesday). On Wednesday morning, after searching on the internet for an hour and making a few phone calls, I was able to locate both parts at Northeastern Supply, a local plumbing and heating supply only twenty minutes from home. When I called Service Today about this, I received again, no reply. Finally, at 6 pm on Wednesday evening, almost 96 hours after I first reported the problem to Service Today, two repairmen came to replace the parts that were under warranty. Happily, there was no charge for the service or the parts, but all our house plants are now dying and our nerves are completely shot. I would never recommend them to anyone. Finally, I realize that some repairs require time; sometimes it is difficult to find the right parts, (ours is only a 7 yr.-old furnace), but to be told that the parts were not available locally was not right. More than that, I am upset with their inability and/or unwillingness to stay in contact with their contracted customer on the progress of the repair, especially when it was so cold. If we had known at the beginning that it would take four days, we would have had at least the option of renting a motel room or of going out of town to visit family. I find it totally unacceptable to have to wait four days without getting one phone call informing us of what was happening. My wife and I were definitely left out in the cold!

I could not be happier. Starting from finding two leaks in my yard that were coming from the main water line from the street, which grew quite significant to flood my yard, I already knew the pipe would need to be replaced. I contacted Service Today at 1130am Monday morning, had a comfort specialist at my home by 330pm (the fastest response I've had for any company I've used). My yard is quite accessible from the street, and would require it to be dug up to access and replace the pipe. But the complication of getting under the foundation and safely placing the line added to my stress. Within a half hour, I had an estimate to excavate the yard, remove the pipe, replace the line coming into the house, run it under the foundation, and connect it to my main plumbing. I signed before the comfort specialist could leave, and agreed to have the job completed. In my driveway, the comfort specialist sent all the paperwork and had the wheels in motion before close of business. By Wednesday, I was scheduled for the entire job to be done while I was at work Friday. By 0730 Friday morning, the excavator was in my driveway. From the time I left for work and time I got home, Ms. Utility came to mark off where the lines were located, water was turned off, the excavator dug up the yard, a new line was placed, yard recovered, and water pipe was connected to my main water pipes in my home. When I left work at 5pm, the job was done. For the amount of labor involved, and the urgent need to stop running water, I feel this was worth every penny. On top of it all, the work completed was guaranteed for one year, which was even better to find out. The plumber who contacted me when all was done couldn't have been nicer. After this experience for such a major plumbing job, I will always use Service Today for my plumbing needs. The speed and efficiency to get such a major task completed met my expectations, and I truly could not be happier.

Had to wait six hours for service person. No indication during that time if and when the service person would show up. However, the service person was very competent. My main problem was the cost. Fan motor is about $100 and 1.5 hours labor so $200 total would be the reasonable price. Service today charges a flat fee - called a Level 5 for $586, or almost THREE times the reasonable price!

I have a yearly service contract with Service Today for my HVAC.

I had an appt. set for two weeks from today to get my heater ready for winter.  However, I turned on my heat yesterday and realized this morning that the motor was running but the heat itself hadn't kicked in.

I called at @ 8:45 AM to schedule a tech to come out.  He arrived at 9:30 AM and over @ 3.5 hours, replaced a defective part, which he had on his truck, and winterized my unit in one visit so I was able to take the appt. for two weeks away off my calendar!  The tech, James, was pleasant, professional and highly competent.

The instant response was incredible and the fact the tech requested that he be allowed to do the winterization in addition to the repair in this visit was great!

I highly recommend this company for your HVAC service.

I ran into a Service Today representative at the Amish market in Easton, MD. I saw they sold Train equipment, which I like. I talked to the rep about my current systems age, and that I might be thinking of replacing it at some point. He suggested I have a routine service, and explained they had a special price for it.
I decided to call service today and schedule a service. The person I talked to was very nice and quite helpful. I told her I'd like to get my heat pump and my oil furnace serviced. I also explained the heat pump might need to have the gas charge checked, and perhaps some gas added, as it was not cooling as well as normal. Over the 15 years the system has been installed, the system has had to have gas added twice. The service was scheduled for the next day between 12:00PM and 05:00PM, so far so good.
The next day I did not hear from anyone until 05:30PM at which time I got a call saying the service guy would be arriving soon. I said fine. Although this was a bit after the time the service was scheduled for, I was fine with it. I understand how the service business is and how things get backed up.
Around 6:00PM the service guy arrived. I went out to great him, and tried to make causal conversation. I said to him, I guess you're working some overtime today. He seemed annoyed and said something to the effect that it was not because he wanted to. I understand doing service can be a hard job. I was a medical device field service engineer myself before I retired. I know service guys can have a bad day. So I tried to move on.
Anyway, we started to discuss what needed to be done. I explained the heat pump should be an easy service, as it already had a new filter, and the outside condenser was clean and free of debris. I said the evaporator may need cleaning, the system checked for performance, and perhaps a bit of gas added. Now the serviceman seemed upset with this. He went on to say he could not put gas in the system without calling the office to get permission. I thought how strange. He also was quick to explain that this would cost extra. I said I understand that. So far this guy is giving me all kinds of signals that he may not be the right guy to do business with.
I then moved on to mention the other job, my oil furnace service. Now he is even more agitated. He told me he was not told the second job was an oil furnace. I thought perhaps he did not work on oil furnaces, and so ask him. He said he did. I thought maybe due to the late hour he did not want to get involved with the oil furnace, so I told him it could be done
later. This did not seem to make him any happier.
We then walked around to the heat pump to look at it. He again mentioned I'd have to pay more, and it is expensive to put gas into the system. I believe he said between 30 and 60 dollars a pound for the R22. I'm thinking which is it? Anyway, I mentioned I had a brand new full 30# bottle of R22 he could use, and this seemed to get him more upset. Look, I'm retired and have to watch my pennies. I did not think this was an unreasonable request, and I told him I understood I'd have to pay more for the labor.  He said he was in the business to make money and would not use my gas. I'm a reasonable guy, but at this point I'd seen enough of this guy. He arrived at my house late, and obviously not in any mood to do any work. I tried to work with his attitude offering to reschedule the oil furnace. I tried to be friendly and respectful with him and got nothing in return. I'd had enough and said it was best if he left, he did, and he was quick to do so.
The next day I called Service Today and explained what happened, and why I ask the serviceman to leave. The woman I talked to was very understanding and said this was not how they do business. After we talked about it, I agreed to send an e mail detailing my experience. I did so the next day.
You would think that after I explained that I was looking for more than just a quick service, that I may be interested in replacing some of my HVAC equipment, and that I was looking to get some kind of relationship including maybe a service contract, that they would be very interested in my business.
Well, they spoke loudly and clearly that they are not interested. I never heard back from anyone.
I'm a bit surprised. I did check with a friend that uses Service Today. He has a contract with them and is happy with them. I did check Angie's List, and the reviews were good. So I'm left to wonder why I had such a lousy experience. I can defiantly say I won't be calling them back.
