Rick (Tech #43) has done service in my home several times. Always punctual, courteous, knowledgeable, efficient, and very competent. I always know that if there's a problem, Rick will either fix it, or tell me what i should do. Very happy with his service.

I cannot believe I was a 4 year customer. Does not matter to them. Got an email that they were going to refill my tank next week. After being on hold for 25 minutes I was told contract was not up till DEC. Never renewed the contract becuase they jacked the price up last year. After all that wanted to charge me a 399.00 cancellation fee. DONT USE THEM...

My 18 yo heat pump died and I had to replace it. While this heat pump lasted 18 years, it was a constant headache due to the incompetent installer. So I was very careful to select a competent HVAC company. I went with Petro as they have served me well for the last 25+ years. I have oil heat as a backup, but before I installed the first heat pump system it was the main heat source, serviced by AP Woodson and then Petro after they acquired AP Woodson. Their team was excellent, starting with the estimator, Mark Londer. The in-house crew that installed my Trane system was knowledgeable, professional, responsive, and friendly. The new system started running immediately and has run flawlessly in both AC and heat modes. I want to thank Petro for their years of support and service and for the successful installation of my new heat pump system.

I was in need of an oil and propane supplier. I had just moved to the area. Kelly Bachur had sent a letter to our residence, after we moved in. I have spoken with her multiple times, and she is always patient with all of my questions and has assisted me numerous times already. She is quick to respond, both by telephone and email. Brand new unit Trane AC failed after less than 30 days installment . Given 3 different service times with a no show from service technicians . Very poor service . Would not recommend.

I have waited over 5 months to write this review in order to give Petro the opportunity to fix the numerous problems with no luck. I've spent 16,000 dollars on ductless systems that do not work. They do not blow cold nor hot air. In addition the big unit outside is already causing the wood on my property to warp that its attached to. I have been getting the run around for 5 months. Finally when a manager calls me, he says that i am giving an attitude while raising his voice at me. Yes, maybe I am a little irked that nothing works. This has been my second largest purchase of my life besides for my house, and all the equipment are lemons. This experience would not be as bad if the managers in Baltimore did the right thing and taken the steps resolved the issues on the multiple times I've called. I have made over a dozen calls for numerous different problems. I have a new born baby at home in which I bought these units for, and she has not been able to enjoy them since installation 5 months ago! I am deeply hurt would not recommend to family and friends.Thank you.

I had small oil leak from the oil filter between the furnace and oil tank. The technician came out and replaced oil filter. It took about 30 minutes. And I received outrageous $703 bill to replace the oil filter. And it says that the service plan saved me $193.95 on this service call. So, the company charges almost $1000 dollars to replace oil filter. I don't think it is reasonable price for the repair. I am so worried how much I have to pay if my furnace breaks down.

We're writing this review to express how extremely satisfied and pleased the family is with the service provided by Pili, the Petro technician that visited our home on Jan. 19, 2020. To date, it appears Pili has finally resolved the countless issues we've been experiencing with our boiler over the past 3 to 5 years. By leaps and bounds, Pili was simply outstanding!! He demonstrated such a high level of professionalism, focus and concentration in troubleshooting the reasons why our boiler had been continuously malfunctioning. Unlike the Petro technicians that preceded him, Pili went above and beyond in diagnosing the specific parts that were not functioning properly. His determination and desire to want to rectify the deficiencies we've been experiencing are second to none. Going forward, not only will the family be forever grateful to Pili and his expertise; however, we will always request him on every job as long as he is employed with the company. Two days in a row with no heat, coldest days so far this December. Initial tech got heat back on but after one cycle of heat the unit wouldn’t kick on again. 2nd call and customer service sent senior tech Pili (P) out and he did an amazing job, thoroughly serviced my furnace and was able to successfully troubleshoot the issue. Replaced the pump and cleaned up inside the unit. He made sure it would kick on again by stopping and starting the furnace successfully before he left. Thank you for a job well done ??

Petro, after 20 years of uninterrupted service based on their K-factor/degree day model, inexplicably, took my account off that model, mismanaged it manually, and didn't meet weather needs. My house froze to tune of $15,000 damage. Petro's position is that I wasn't there to complain about Petro's mishap, and therefore, fault is mine.

they keep pushing for new furnace. They came from Angies list and I am tired of them keep pushing for me to replace the furnace. My furnace is an Armstrong and I have had it for 19 years and it does require finesse but it works. but they don't listen.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Overbilled on oil price: charged $3.699/gal. Phone call got it adjusted to mkt. px.@ $2.659/gal. Paid bill on 1.17.19, was billed again for the same delivery 1.26.19. Called yesterday (2.3.19) for delivery w/ empty tank, called again today, can't deliver 'til tomorrow, maybe the day after. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

"Called 4 times for oil delivery and nobody ever showed up. Finally received a delivery on Saturday after oil ran out and then the furnace would not run as it had to be primed. Called emergency service and told they were behind 24 hours . Finally convinced them we were desperate for heat and they said someone would be out between 5 and 9pm. Service call was not properly handled and when we called back they said they would have to reschedule between 2am and 5am. Honestly this is the worst customer service we have ever received. How can oil run out when we have auto delivery and called 4 times for delivery and nobody shows up." Buyer beware to all C. Hofferberger customers. They have been bought by Petro and the service is horrendous.

HORRIBLE. I took off work ( my NEW job) to be here and they were a NO SHOW. I waited on hold for more than 20 minutes to find out what happened but they never picked up my call. Absolutely unacceptable.

Initially it went well; the ground was dug for underground propane line, they did some work and left waiting for Howard County inspector. It passed inspection. I had a delay on the kitchen work and had numerous calls regarding the final work from Petro. I explained the situation numerous times. Then had a scheduled time, called and set an appointment. Had about three calls asking to schedule after that--apparently there is a lack of communication. The guys came and brought the tank and hooked up the fireplace and stove top about 10 days ago. They were messy (no clean up) and dropped the propane converter package on the stove top (thankfully, did not damage it). The tank is not in a good location because the downspout is bound to make it move and they left a pile of dirt at the back end of the tank and no "hinge" for the lid on the tank. The inspector came back and the work failed because they did not install shutoffs at either location. On Monday it will be two weeks since it failed inspection and no response from Petro to date.

It's included with my oil. I am on a budget plan and the service is like $400 a year. When they come out they change the filters and clean the boiler, one of those oil furnaces. They adjust it and do the whole 9 years. They even take the top out and suck all the soot out and up the chimney. They do the whole job. Their price is fine. I've been paying it for quite a few years now. If I have a problem they have somebody out there right away. I am what they call one of their prime customers. The people who sometimes come out have been there before so they know the system and the house and everything.

I've had their service for at least 25 years. I thought the price was a little high but it is what it is. We enjoyed their company. It worked out real well. I learned a lot and if we have a similar situation I can do it myself. Cleaned up very well. They prepped the area so they could catch any debris. It was in the ceiling so it was a little messy. They picked up all they put down. They explained to me what needed to be done and I watched them so I can make those type of repairs myself.

We had a problem with our air conditioner; they change the capacitor. We have a service contract with them, so the trip was covered under it. We've been using them for a long time number one, number two I have a service contract with them because they handle all of my AC and heating challenges and number three they come out pretty quick if we need them right away.When you call their customer service, they handle it very quickly. We have used them for like 40 years already.
