Mold Remediation and Construction Services Inc.

The air in the basement of my mom's home tested postitve for Aspergillus/Penicillium mold, a common allergen. The spore count was significantly higher than the outside air. Our realtor suggested "Mold remediation and Construction Services Inc." to do the remediation. Tony gave me a good estimate and was able to arrive within a few days to begin work.  The work extended over four days. The guys doing the job were very courteous; they answered all my questions and let me know what they were going to do each day and how much they had gotten done the previous day. The service consisted of first cleaning the entire basement, applying a disinfectant to kill all the mold, and applying an antimicrobial coating to the rafters and the concrete foundation walls of the basement. Negative air scrubbing machines were used as needed. Furniture in the basement was cleaned, too.  Altogether, an excellent job was done. Very  happy with the results.

Mold Remediation & Construction Services' professionalism and workmanship is above and beyond what I could've imagined.  For demolition, instead of taking a sledgehammer to the affected area, they cut away the moldy material in clean, straight lines with incredible precision.  While working within the original scope of the contract, they found several additional affected areas of the house, such as part of the ceiling in the kitchen.  Although some of the additional work was significant enough in scope to require change orders, in many cases -- where they could accomplish the additional remediation without adding days of labor -- they remediated the additional mold at no extra cost.

The reconstruction work looks beautiful.  The drywall work is smooth and flawless.  Tony's people even managed to match a stippled pattern on our living room ceiling, which we did not expect to be possible.  The paint looks great, and where only part of a wall was affected, the painter managed to match the new paint to the existing paint color to the extend that it's hard to tell there was anything done to the wall.

As they were rebuilding the furnished basement, the work crew fixed a handful of other problems, including bringing our electrical wiring up to code, squaring the framing for several doors such that the new doors open and close properly, and properly padding the new carpet, even on the stairs.

Bottom line, by the time they finished, the mold was gone and they left our home in better shape than it was before we ever had the mold problem.  In the two and a half months since they finished, we have not seen any recurrent mold growth, nor have we had any problems with the work they did.
