We had some issues with our service visit and ended up having three different technicians come out on four separate occasions. When you're without air conditioning and have to take time off from work to be available for the visits, four visits is inconvenient especially when the technicians made guarantees that fell short. In the end, the fourth person who came out was a supervisor and he made the situation right, got everything fixed up and didn't charge us anymore than the initial visit. It was a frustrating process overall but they did resolve our issues and make good by the end.

Not only do these guys do great at what they do on the HVAC Residential division, they also have a very strong background in commercial HVAC I would highly recommend this company to any contractor looking to bring in a honest, trustworthy and dependable outfit. Our home is currently undergoing major renovations and when our original HVAC contractor disappeared on us, we contact Maryland Heating & Air. Chris came out, discussed the project (installing a whole new unit, including duct work), gave us a fast and detailed quote. He was very helpful and answered all of our questions about the install and particulars with the unit and placement of ducts. The guys were very friendly, knowledgeable, clean, trustworthy, kept things moving along with the project and even kept us in the loop (as well as the general contractor in charge of the project). We would highly recommend Maryland Heating & Air to our friends and family (and have already done so!).

I used the coupon on Angie's List to get these guys to come out to figure out what was wrong with my 19 year old HVAC system (other than it just needs to be replaced). They were able to get it going by replacing a capacitor. It did stop working again 2 days later but they came back out for free and realized it needed a little more Freon also. They thought it only needed 1-2 lbs and it took 3 but they only charged me for the 2 that he said initially and they didn't charge to come back out. It would have been a little nicer to get it in one trip but when you find one obvious problem and the system starts working, I'll admit that most people would stop also and wouldn't have looked for other issues like that. I'll most likely have them replace my whole system when this one fully dies. I'm just trying to string that out because systems get better and better every year so why spend that money now?

Great.. the technician was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. My AC needed to be recharged. It went faster than I thought and the price was great. I would definitely rehire/recommend them.

It was in the middle of an extreme cold snap and our heat wasn't working. They came out and put a band-aid on it to get it working until they could replace with parts on order. Punctual and professional. Did the work quickly and cleaned up the work space well. Great communication. I don't know anything about boilers, but it seems to me that they did a great job for a reasonable price.

i bought their special promotion for AC diagnostic work because the compressor of my outdoor ac unit didn't kick in. their ad said "Here's the Deal: $60 for a heating or cooling diagnostic service call. Valid for diagnosing a heating or cooling issue on a gas system, including uneven heating/cooling issues. Recommendations and pricing for necessary repairs." the technician checked the amperage of the wire going into the compressor - it was around 150A - and tried to boost start the compressor by connecting another capacitor. it failed and he said the rotor inside the compressor got stuck and it needed to be replaced. he spent about 20 minutes in total. After that he said i had to pay additional $75 because the company charges $135 for a service call. i protested and had to talk to an office lady. According to her subsequent email, the reason i have to pay extra $75 is: "The Angie's List deal covers us to show up and diagnosis the issue; however if our technician tries to see what else can be done to make a repair on your system then those charges are outside of the Angie's List purchase and MUST be paid for. I will send you the invoice and as soon as that is paid we would like to send you a quote for replacement." Are they speaking different English? Their ad says "Recommendations and pricing for necessary repairs," but I have to pay extra $75 for a quote for repair. To me it is just a misleading ad or dishonest business tactic. p/s I have no complaint about the technician.

I called Maryland Heating and Air on a Sunday. To my surprise a technician was able to come to my house on Sunday and charged me only $50 extra for a Sunday service call. He replaced a capacitor which had failed.

They did an outstanding job diagnosing the issue and working to get our AC back up and running since it went out during one of the hot spells this summer. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to my friends. The technician was on time, polite, and very personable and professional. Great job!

The service went well. the technician called to let me know he was on the way and arrived on time. I requested and received a quote on a heat pump replacement. Would hire again.
