Visual Changes Salon & Spa

When I went on my last appointment, the salon was in a temporary space, as they are renovating their usual location. I got an eyebrow wax, and I was very pleased with the result, as the technician made sure to listen to my specific requests. I have gone to this salon in the past both for hair and spa services and have had no complaints. I recently learned, however, that they will be getting rid of their spa offerings, which is disappointing.

The reason I first booked with this place is it was listed under Locks of Love salons in my area and the receptionist at the salon could not have been more kind or professional. I was really looking forward to my appointment.

I arrived for my appointment with 15 minutes to spare and waited in the lobby. While there I saw a small sink near a snack area so I helped myself to some water. I turned on the faucet and water came pouring out of a small hose off to the side that I hadn't seen. After turning off the faucet I called a staff member to show them the faulty sink. Rather than taking the large amount of napkins I had used to clean up the water mess, the staff lady and, I think, the owner of the salon discussed the water pipes. Neither acknowledged me nor the bulky napkins in my hand so I found a trash can on my own and sat back down.

My hair stylist was running a bit late with her customer and I heard the receptionist ask her to speed it up a bit. I was in no rush so I did not look at my watch to see how long after my appointment time I had waited. When the stylist called me back to her chair to sit and discuss my hair, it was quite obvious she had not swept up the previous client's hair; it covered the chair and the floor. Only after I asked her to clean off the hair did she sweep it.

My hair had to be cut twice after the initial braids were cut. I was thankful for the stylist's honesty when I asked her if she was used to cutting really curly hair; she admitted she was not. When I made my appointment I was quite specific in requesting an experienced stylist. After my hair was cut with a new short hairstyle I asked if I could use the salon's products and style my hair on my own. When I did so, it was very noticeable that my hair was cut poorly and we both laughed at the cut. The stylist cut my hair again which did improve the style but I made up my mind at that point to go to a salon closer to me that charges a lot more but can guarantee a great haircut.

Before I left, the receptionist showed me around the rest of the salon which offered spa services. She was nice and I recall feeling let down that the salon experience did not go so well. The price was definitely fair, the distance from me a little farther than I normally travel, but I was hooked on the great phone customer service.

I've been going to Lisa for a few months and love what she has done with my hair. We also have figured out the perfect highlight color. I've very happy with the services she has provided, and the front staff are always very customer focused.

I don't understand customer service these days. I called and wanted an appointment with Sarah. The front desk girl said she would check with Sarah to see what could be done and would call me back. I waited all day and heard nothing. I called back that evening and was given the run around. I asked for Sarah to call me back so we could try to work out a solution. As of yet I have not heard back. I would not recommend VC to anyone unless you want a headache and empty promises!
The sad thing is that I have used VC in the past and have been more than satisfied. I am beyond disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I usually use Sarah. She is very attentive and has consistently done as I have requested. She is particularly outstanding when it comes to hair color options.

Stylist was a bit concerned because of cultural difference but did a fantastic job. Everyone was very responsive, professional, and friendly. I received a lot of compliments on my cut! ?

When I moved into this area last year and was looking for a good hair salon, my sister-in-law highly recommended Visual Changes Salon and Spa. I could not agree with her recommendation more. This is a great hair salon and, as I recently tried their spa services, it is a great spa as well! Everyone is friendly and welcoming here. I find it easy to be intimidated in salons, but the staff here are very welcoming and knowledgeable, and they all do a really good job at what they do. Sometimes while I'm getting shampooed or my hair is being cut, one of the staff will offer a complimentary hand massage, and I highly recommend that you accept!!! Touches like that are what impress me about this salon. They recommend products, but there is absolutely no high pressure to buy, and I actually have really liked the things they've recommended that I have purchased. My hair is not easy to tame, but they've recommended some great products which I love. You are in good hands here. They are all very good at what they do, but they also make you feel like you are welcome and they are glad you're there.
P.S. I also get my son's hair cut here. Lisa does a great job with his hair (and also with mine).

I was in heaven! Up until now, I had only come to Visual Changes for hair salon services, and I have always had a very good experience. Due to a special deal (I do not recall the $ amount, so the amount above is the approximate worth of the services), I came in for an afternoon of pampering (massage, pedicure, and facial). I had a wonderful time. It was all so relaxing that when my facial was done, I wasn't sure I could actually walk to my car, that's how relaxed I was! Each service provider did a great job. My massage was incredibly relaxing, I felt totally pampered by the pedicure, and I figured the facial would just be a bit of a bonus. I don't usually get facials, so I was so surprised at how relaxing it turned out to be. I was transported to a place of tranquility, all the stress just melted away, and I was in heaven. I kid you not, when the facial was over, I could barely speak I was so relaxed, I could only moan my words. So she told me to relax a few minutes before getting up. To this day, just thinking about my day at Visual Changes Salon and Spa makes me more relaxed. The special deal is what got me to try their spa services, but now that I have tried them, I will be going back. These services are totally worth the relaxation you get, and everyone is very friendly and inviting. I highly recommend you try them out; you will be so glad you did!

They are very good and the environment is wonderful. The availability is not that wonderful. I had to wait two and a half weeks to get a cut and color. They encourage you to make appointments ahead of time, which I do not do. It is a team concept where they all share in the profits and if somebody needs help then someone else steps in and helps them.
