R.M SHOE REPAIR

He actually made a mistake and I needed to go back. He fixed problem at no extra charge.

This is an old-time shoe repair place in a bit of an obscure location in an old building at the corner of Frederick Rd and St. John's Lane, which seems fitting.  Opening the door is a little like going back in time.  But the gentleman is very nice, gives you a ticket for your shoes, and fixes them in the time promised.  He's a little taciturn but is clearly a skilled craftsman.  I've been back twice and will go again next time I need a repair.

Shoe repair shops are difficult to find nowadays...and this one is no exception. It is in a small building on the bottom floor of the right hand side of the buidling. It is actually very easy to drive by (which I did the first time I went to it)...but once found it is a gema and a keeper. It smells like shoe leather and the gentlemen behind the counter was a true professional, prompt and just plain nice. For some reason the bottoms of my heels always erode away until the nail is showing...and I have a bad habit of kicking the back of my heels. So in I go to the shoe repair shop and he ended up fixing six pairs of heels...yes, I know...six. He did a fabulous job and they show no signs of wear. I did have two that needed sewing and he was honest enough to tell me that I should not spend my money fixing them, for he would be able to do it, but where I had the tear it would just not look good in the end. He also dyed a pair of shoes that were this odd gray color into a more manageable color.
Overall, great craftmanship for the price. He will be my cobbler for now until...well until I stop wearing heels...which is not going to happen any time soon.
