Levelift Foundations LLC
About us
Levelift Systems was founded in 1991 by Mr. Paul Mauer. Over the next twenty-three years, Mr. Mauer developed a highly respected specialty foundation contracting company, serving the State of Maryland. Unfortunately, Mr. Mauer died tragically in 2014. Levelift Foundations, LLC was formed as a means of keeping the core of Levelift Systems together and continuing to be a leading installer and foundation designer, for the CHANCE helical pier system, in the state of Maryland. Our certified helical pier installers are trained and certified by CHANCE® and we offer both residential and commercial foundation solutions in Maryland and the surrounding areas.

We were very pleased with both the interpersonal interaction and the results of the consultation with Phil and Levelift.
By the way, I called Levelift based on their Angie's List ratings.
Met with Paul Mauer of Levelift Systems, he was very nice, patient and professional along with his team. Received a proposal for the work noted below:
The work in the basement included but not limited too grout beneath concrete, excavate & installed timber walls,
raise window well & installed standard home-improvement store grade cover, raise grade, furnished & installed discharge pipes for down spouts, installed seven steel beams, new interior drainage, repaired damaged mortar joints, installed 12" high cast-in-place concrete curb between steel beams and they took care of all the Montgomery County permits and inspections. In addition, mobilization, site preparation and furnished & installed discharge pipe for sump pump.
In addition, Paul recommended a very good Structural Engineer to take care of the structural drawings.
The contract payment terms were broken down into four payments with the option of using major credit cards and we have a ten (10) year warranty.
Paul and his team were very responsive, punctual, and professional and the quality of the work was excellent. We have not had any problems in the basement since 2013. They are highly recommended. (A+)
Monday morning the crew showed up as agreed and showed me the plan. The immediately began working on the outside part of the job, pulling out necessary shrubs and buses, digging holes for pier installation. The first day they installed 2 or 3 piers. Second day a crew came to take out part of the living room floor (this is another company I hired to do the inside finishing work once all the foundation work was completed) so that the fireplace and chimney could be stabilized properly. Later in the day the foundation crew began digging inside that hole. Third day they drilled out two holes in another adjoining room to install piers (that part of the house in built on a slab, remainder of house has crawlspace) as well as another hole under the back patio for final pier. They also began installing piers inside as well as completing pier installation on outside front of house. Fourth day they completed all pier installation and began refiilling holes with dirt, compacting each one tightly. Fifth day they poured concrete back over the two side room holes, replanted shrubs they had removed, and put topsoil over outside work area (could have chosen topsoil or mulch). Then they cleaned up everything. It looked better than when they started.
The second crew from another company came in and began installing the new joists under living room floor and closing up the hole for the weekend.
Levelift did a great job. Before deciding on a contractor I had also hired an individual structural engineer to evaluate the situation. The proposal Levelift presented was in sync with that report. I had also had two other companies bid on the job, but Levelift turned out to be the best fit. And the job they did was excellent.
Paul promptly responded to our initial call and made an appointment to give us an estimate for the job. He was punctual for his initial visit. He was very knowledgeable and spend quite a bit of time discussing our options. The installation of the helical piles went well ... in some places the helical piles had to be installed installed as deep as 24 feet to reach undisturbed soil. Paul and his crew were punctual and very professional. The job was completed without any problems and they left the site intact. Paul was also very helpful in recommending Matt Taylor of Taylor enterprises (also in Angie's list) for the concrete work as well as helping us contact an engineer to oversee the construction. Paul and Matt coordinated the work on the job beautifully and we were very happy with the entire project. We strongly recommend him for this type of work . We are planning to do a similar remodeling job of our front entrance in the spring that will require helical piles and we will definitely contact Paul Mauer for that job as well.
