Howard County Animal Hospital

They do everything, I've been using them for probably 20 years. A's across the board, I've been going there forever. They treated my pets like they were his family dogs. The facility is a good, nice, clean place.

It pains me to even have to give these people one star. I took a week and a half old kitten in to them, by accident because i had actually scheduled an appointment with the veterinarian next door, Patapsco Valley Animal Hospital... They didn't have me fill out any paperwork and then took her back and said there was nothing they could do at this point other an immediate surgery for diverticulitis and that she had a minimal chance of surviving and my best course of action was to euthanize her. This is a week and a half old kitten that I have been bottle feeding, had just opened her eyes that day, plays with me, eats well, uses the bathroom as she should but she had a small growth next to her butt which is why i took her in. I obviously immediately began to breakdown thinking I had to put down this baby kitten that I had been doing everything in my power to keep healthy. Luckily, I have a very good family friend that is a vet at an animal hospital that is unfortunately not local to me, and i called her and she said "absolutely not" to diverticulitis. She asked me to send her pictures and give her all of the information so she could hopefully give me better news. Minutes after leaving, with a medication in an unmarked syringe that they did not disclose what it was or provide me with any paperwork and just told me to give it to her every few hours, I receive a call saying I missed my vet appointment. BECAUSE THEY FAILED TO TELL ME I WAS IN THE WRONG PLACE. Thankfully, Patapsco Valley was still able to take me even though they were minutes from closing. They were able to tell me immediately that the kitten had a hernia which was not uncommon and easy to maintain until she is older and strong enough to have surgery to repair it if it doesn't heal on its own. I WAS DEVASTATED thinking I had to euthanize my kitten all because Howard County Vet wanted to make easy money on someone they thought didn't know any better. I hope every person in that building rots in ****. Please do not trust them with your animals, GET A SECOND OPINION.

We never felt pressured or rushed to make a decision about our cat's health. Dr. Mira gave us practical advice, answered all questions we had, and allowed us the time to make our choices. We have used Howard County Animal hospital for 13 years and never wait for an appointment and have never felt rushed. Prices are fair and reasonable.

He worked really well with our puppy. He has also given us good service and advice for our senior yellow lab who suffers from hip dysplasia, failing eyesight, and just plain old age. I feel confident in him.

This vet is a bit pricey.

We went back several times. They have been very helpful and effective. I feel confident with them. They are professional with the animals.

I have been using this vet for about three years. What I like the most is that it is easy for me to get an appointment, the prices are better then anybody else, and if I need to I can order his prescriptions on line.
