I have been with Greenlawn for several years and over time they have gone from acceptable to unacceptable. They provide a reasonable basic mowing service and the treatments seem to keep the portion of the yard that they treat reasonably green and mostly weed free. However, over time they have become complacent.
Lawn Mowing & "Trimming"
I live backed up to woods and have a large swing set in my back yard. I assume that my entire yard should be mowed however they have defined large areas which are not mowed and I assume they are considering these woodsy areas that should be left alone. In their defense, I did have two trees cut down and the cut wood blocked some of the area, but this should not have prevented them from addressing the several yards of area (like right up against my deck and back of house and swing set area).
Fertilizer & Weed Treatment
Like mowing, there are several areas of my yard which I am assuming they consider "out of scope" because weeds grow and/or the treatment does not seem to be effective in and around areas next to the house and surrounding trees in the front and back.
Professionalism
Communication
The person that e-mails me my invoice is named Dale. Communication with him is frustrating. I have attempted to communicate with him on several occasions and he is either VERY slow to return e-mails/calls or seems to ignore me altogether. I have NEVER been able to call them directly without having to leave a message and hope for the best.
Most recently, he sent me an "invoice with recommendation" to cut down a tree in my front yard and to "clean up" my back yard. I sent him a request for a quote for the tree in front and stated my concern (once again) about the decreasing footprint of mowed area in my backyard. I have heard nothing but crickets for over a week.
Bottom Line
Earlier in the business relationship I thought they performed better but maybe I am just becoming more attentive to the situation now. If I do not hear from them soon and if they do not present a mutually acceptable solution to my concerns I will be looking elsewhere.

Mowers - I do not interact with the individuals that show up to do the work, but generally they are polite and mow the yard in a timely manner. Earlier this year, I had to contact the company because the grass length was getting ridiculous and I got excuses from Dale about how the weather had been wet (he also used this excuse for why certain areas were not cut). I understand weather is unpredictable but no one else in my neighborhood had a yard that was unreasonably long for an extended period of time. I also understand you can get backed up because of rainy days and my response to that would be to bring on extra people to catch up, or at a minimum, COMMUNICATE (See below) with your customers to make them aware of the situation instead of having your customer chase you down.
Management - Nothing to say here but horrible. No communication, Inability to reach directly, Lack of responsiveness.

The job was done quickly using dry materials applied by a motorized dispersing machine. This company seems to do reasonable work at a reasonable price. We have used them about three years and have no complaints about their work. Basically you sign up in advance for a number of lawn treatments in a year, and that's what Greenlawn provides. The applications are not scheduled by appointment; they come when they come, but that's fine with us. I don't know if a specific appointment can be scheduled.

The punctuality was good, but the service was not very professional.

THEY ARE A GOOD COMPANY. THE WORKERS ARE JUST WONDERFUL. THEY SERVICE MY LAWN FOUR TIMES A YEAR. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THEM. I WILL CONTINUE TO USE THEM YEARLY AND WOULD ALSO RECOMMEND THEM.
