In mid-January, we invited three A-rated closet companies to provide estimates. Joe from Cornerstone was the last of the three. He seemed to understand our design wishes better than the other two, he could put drawers under a wardrobe (which one company could not), and he matched the lower price estimate, so we went with Cornerstone. We made it clear that we had a deadline, the birth of our second boy due in late March. The first thing Joe did when he gave the estimate was show us the rounded (so-called 2-millimeter bonded) edges on their shelving units, saying, ?This is what we can do that the competition can?t.? The topic never arose again. We thought it was standard. It was actually an extra-cost option that he never offered us. So when Matt did the installation on February 19, that misunderstanding became apparent. They had also ordered the wrong dimensions (12 inches deep instead of 16) for the center section of the bookshelf, misreading Joe?s instructions. Matt offered to replace about 20% of the shelves with 2-mm bonded at their expense, and we had to keep the sharp edges on the rest. He also threw in at no cost two new shelves that we requested. The contract had specified that 95% be paid at the time of installation if mistakes had to be fixed. Joe negotiated that down to 87.5%, but we recommend that customers remove that language from the contract. We asked them to expedite the replacement, as we wanted to finish preparing for the birth well in advance. They did not, using their standard slow freight shipping with another four-week turnaround. Theo was born before they called. That didn?t matter, as it turned out, because another mistake had been made, so they had to re-order with another three-week delay. During these seven weeks, they ?touched base? to let us know what was happening only once, when the mistake was discovered. The final installation was completed on April 8. The closet installation, which included touch-up patching, painting, and floorboard replacement, turned out beautiful (see photo). The bookshelf was less successful. The crown molding was not installed flush with the ceiling. They claim that was because there is a hump on the ceiling, but we don?t see it, and they failed to consult us about it during the installation. The center 16-inch section is separated from the 12-inch sections on either side by two vertical panels, one 12 inches deep and the other 16, contrasting with the single 16-inch panel shown on the original design. These features of the installation detract from the appearance (see photo).

Overall, very well. Thought we would end up with more shelf space, but we are satified with the result.

They designed and installed the new closet. They were neat and really concerned about the height of the top bars since I am short. They said if I ever wanted to change them I could call and they would come out at no charge. I would recommend Cornerstone to anyone! They were prompt and always returned phone calls.

Working with Cornerstone was fabulous - you will find no "buts" in this review. Diana, the designer, responded to my initial request within hours of my call and then visited my home several times to survey the space, understand my needs, and ensure that the design, materials, timing, and price met my requirements. She was even willing to collaborate directly with our designer and the builder (and is an absolute sweetheart). Once the designing phase was complete, the hand-off to Matt and his install team was seamless. They were accommodating to our schedule, thorough, tidy, and customer service focused. After the install, and notably after the final payment was made, I requested a minor change to which they responded by quickly scheduling a time and promptly coming out to our home to make the modification without charge. The closets are high quality and beautiful. I highly recommend this capable family owned and run business!!

She brought samples and was very patient with me answering all of my questions as I have never done anything like this before. I gained so much space and even got some drawers in my closet so I can go in and get dressed in the morning from top to bottom. I would recommend them to anyone!!! By the way, they give a $100 referral bonus if you refer someone who gets work done through them. Overall, such a pleasant experience and I really do have my dream closet.

Their service was great. They gave a 3D presentation on site. I had a quote back in one day, so they worked quickly.

Everything came out great. They planned it all out and installed everything very well. They had to work around some plumbing lines that were unexpected, but they had no problem doing that.

The work turned out great! They did a great job! I was extremely happy and satisfied with their work. The design consultant was excellent and she did a great job!

They were very responsive and have outstanding customer service. I would highly recommend them. Price was pretty competitive.

I met Joe at the MD Home Show. He was very nice and knowledgable of the product. He came to my house and looked at about 6 of my closets and suggested going with the 2 bedroom closets first. I have a small square master bed room closet that was horrible. He printed out the proposal with diagrams from all angles. They required half down before ordering the supplies. He said it would take about a month to get in and would call me about a week or two ahead of time so I could get everything down and paint. I got a call stating the closets were in and they were ready to install. We ended up playing phone tag for about 2 weeks. The installers arrived on time and were professional. They were nicely dressed, polite and explained everything. They cleaned up after themselves. They offered to come back if any adjustments were needed. The product is nicely made and sturdy. I had looked at closet systems at Lowes and Home Depot and feel that Cornerstone had a much better quality. It really made a difference in increasing the amount of space I have to hang my clothes. The clothes that were previously smashed into my closet are now easy to get to. I was really skeptical that they could make such a positive change in my horrible closet situation. The other closet is a standard rectangular shape with the bi-fold doors. They did a great job with that one as well. Joe really listened and looked at what our challenges were when making recommendations on how many shelves and how many poles we needed. I also didn't feel pressured to add a lot of extras as he felt we wouldn't benefit from them. The clothes hanging from the second row of rods hang close to the floor making my shoes difficult to see but worth it.My only complaint was that I feel the communication could have been better. I got a bit frustrated trying to get a hold of someone. I had lost Joe's business card and called the number that is on their web site. They didn't seem to know who I was talking about when asking for Joe which made me a bit nervous. I had left my cell phone number for a call back but they kept calling my house number while I was at work during the 2 weeks of playing phone tag.
