It has been 1 year since all work was completed and the stone retaining wall is failing. The wall is leaning and will eventually fall if no repairs are made. We were promised a 5 year warranty in the contract and after many calls and brush-offs we finally were told "sorry but I don't have any workers now, don't know what to tell you." So we're now going to have to take legal action to resolve the issue and have the repairs made. During construction of the wall we had done our own research on the wall manufacturer's website and raised various questions about the way they were building things. We were told that those things weren't necessary and no professional that builds walls uses them. Later after having other companies come and look at the work to provide repair estimates, they indicated that those things should have been done and probably would have prevented the issues we're having. We also had to spend more money during the project to build a smaller retaining wall that became necessary once they began work on the paver patio. This was an unexpected expense that was a result of poor planning on the company's part. Aside from the failing wall, other work has minor issues and could have been done better. All of the edging for the paver work is showing, which shouldn't be happening (it was like that since completion). There could also have been better cuts done on the pavers to make things look slightly nicer (based on other companies seeing the work). Things took longer to get started than promised and work often turned out slightly different than what was anticipated (i.e. explained one way, ended up another way). Bob Bennett, the owner of the company, has been very unprofessional in handling our post project problems and avoided our requests and calls for quite a while. Our issues are still not resolved and our warranty period is in its first of five years.
