When I wanted to do this project I did not know whether we should get a contractor or an architect separately or together, so I put that in questions I need to ask.  Three to four people contacted me.  The first guy who came did not ask any questions or bring any personal things.  I had not even told him what I wanted him to do and he thought all I wanted to do was the bathroom.  That guy never called me back. Capital Design Associates LLC were the third company to come and the guy made a phone call and came that evening with his portfolio.  He sat and listened to us about what we wanted.  He then made some suggestions.  He had samples and gave us all kind of references to ask about his work before we signed any contract.  He came over and took us to look at the place he was working on at that moment.  What I liked about him is that either he or his partner came every day when the work was going on.  They did not seem to use any subcontractors except for electrical and plumbing work.  They actually did everything else on their own.  They had a print out guy who was very good too.  They were very clean. They wanted to come at 7:30 in the morning and since we were living in the house while they were working there, they came at 8.  They came every day at that time.  Every time my husband added something or took something away they were very patient with us.  My husband was there every day watching them and they never got frustrated.  They sent me flowers when they finished the work to say thank you.  I think that was a very nice gesture.  The place looked absolutely beautiful.  They moved the fireplace form one place to the other.  They took a wall out to make my bedroom have a real sitting area.  It is like a library.  They changed the whole configuration of the bathroom.  They kept things that were necessary and got rid of things that were not needed.  I had a big tub.  They took it out and put it back.  They were great.  We have had them come and look at our new house to see if they can do any upgrades there.  We have not decided yet on that.

I contacted Capital Design Associates, along with several other (4) companies, for a complete gut and remodel of a two-story 1920's home, which had not been touched in over 10 years and was uninhabitable. CDA was only the only company to return my call the same day.   Once I met the team, James Boncore and Ed Robey, I knew I wanted to work with them. I'm so happy that I picked them. They listened to everything I had to say. James and Ed helped me bring what I wanted to fruition. They even pointed out where I could save money without skimping on quality and presented me with several design choices and many finish options for each room in the house. James and Ed used only sub-contractors they had a good relationship with, which, ensures consistency in workmanship and a working knowledge of each sub’s strengths and turnaround times.   James and Ed had no issue with me being on site as much as I wanted and I even learned a few things. I even left town for a week and never worried about a thing. When I got back progress was being made in the same professional manner it had been prior to my vacation. There is nothing I regret about commissioning Capital Design Associates to remodel my home. I had so many compliments on the finished product.
