Stewart and Annette are very professional and a pleasure to deal with. The first time we used them Stewart visited our home to meet the pets and become familiar with their surroundings, and he described in detail what he and his staff would do. Our pets are on medication, and I wanted them to be aware of what and when to administer, and they were terrific about that.
Upon our return from both vacations, I had stack of service visit summaries to read through - the provider took the time and effort to write a paragraph summary of how each separate visit during the week went - very thoughtful and I found it interesting to read!
I will definitely use them again in the future, and encourage others to reach out to them with confidence.
We had one concern with someone that walked our dogs over a year ago, raised the concern to Annette, and she addressed immediately. Since then we have had tremendous service from Renee, our typical walker. Our dogs love her and she clearly really cares about our dogs and her clients.
Renee even checks on our other animals when she comes over to ensure everyone is doing ok, refills water bowls, brings in packages, and goes above and beyond when our dogs aren't the best behaved or are having health problems. When we had an elderly dog with health problems, Renee cleaned up messes in the house, changed pee pads, and accommodated to ensure our dog was always comfortable. When we brought a new dog into our home, Renee dealt with the learning curve of crating, extensive messes in the crate where she would clean off the dog and clean out the crate when she came over, and learning to walk well on a leash.
Love Those Paws is highly recommended due to competitive pricing and extreme flexibility while providing the best care to our 'kids'!
After our Chihuahua passed, a German Shepherd puppy joined our family. They have been providing daily lunchtime walks 4-5 times/week for our GSD for almost 2 years now, and went through the puppy-to-adolescent phase right alongside us! They are always punctual and arrive within the same hour window every day, which is very important to us because our dog knows when it?s time!
After each visit, the caregiver provides a detailed note of when he/she arrived & departed, and what activities occurred. We are always amazed at how the nuances of our pets? personalities are captured in the notes. These are pet people and they have really gotten to know and enjoy our pets!
Partly because we have small children, we have been very particular about our dog?s training/manners, and Stewart has ensured consistency with our training/routines, for example, asking our dog to sit before exiting the house and not permitting our dog to pull on the leash. We?ve shared any new training commands/gestures our dog has learned with Stewart, and at the end of her walk, he goes through a few of them. Stewart personally walks our dog each day? talk about personal service!! Our dog is somewhat social and interested in new people, but after a fleeting moment of excitement, she tends to be lukewarm with them. This is not the case with Stewart ? they have some kind of crazy, special bond. It?s really fun to watch them interact. He brings out the best in her.
In the event they need to provide an alternate dog walker, it is usually the same young woman, who has an amazing sweet and calm demeanor that speaks to our dog, and she too keeps up the same routine as it?s noted in our file.
This type of consistency and positive reinforcement, coupled with Love Those Paws? professionalism and adoration for our pets provides an unmatched relationship and value ? much more than a basic service.
Also, although we try to plan ahead? life happens. And Love Those Paws is very accommodating of changes and last minute requests. Despite the owners both actively providing pet care, they are surprisingly responsive to emails and returning phone calls.
Did I mention that our human kids love ?Mr. Stewart? too? ?If only they could expand into childcare! :)
And on those counts, Love Those Paws is great, period. The owner of the company came to visit us for our first consultation, and told us all about the company, as well as its history, employees, and vision. Probably spent an hour or so talking with us about particulars, etc., but also interacting with our pup and seeing how she was, asking us all the right questions, taking lots of notes, etc. Couldn't have been happier about this; you're inviting folks into your home when you're not there after all... having a good face-to-face is key, in my opinion.
On the walks (and the feeding when she was under 7-8 months), there's just nothing to say that isn't positive. The walkers arrive and leave when they are scheduled, rarely deviating by more than 2-3 minutes from our "preferred" arrival time within a two hour window. When she was smaller, we had a one-hour window, and they never missed there either. They always leave a detailed note about what they did, how the dog behaved, anything unusual, etc.
From the "headquarters" side, when I need to communicate a late change--about which LTP have a very customer-friendly policy--it goes straight to the owner via his text or email, and those changes are confirmed for me near instantaneously. When I need to let the walkers know something, I put it on a note for them, and whatever instruction/note I leave is always followed to the letter.
Short version: Can't say enough great things about Love Those Paws. We love the care they show our dog, and though I suspect you can find many places that love dogs and don't do the business side of things very well, it's still worth mentioning that LTP are just great "dog people." In terms of their business operations, I can say that they are very competitive on price, but on everything else, they are simply without equal. We are not a big client for them--just two walks a week on the days my wife works away from home--but the treatment we get is as though we are their biggest and best customer.
Very happy with them, and hope if/when we move we're in their service radius, because I just don't think we'll find their better anywhere else.
Short answer - It went quite well. The pet sitter left us detailed (and personable) notes on daily tasks and pets reactions and demeanor. They noted when cats were aloof or up for a game of feathers, shy or seeking attention. Although one somewhat outgoing cat was noted to be shy on multiple visits, he was 100% happy and normal when we arrived home. Both cats seemed well adjusted and were not skiddish with us upon return, as has happened with other sitters. We were pleased. The correct amount of food was used up (cans & dry) - always a good thing.
Additionally, the sitter diligently fed outdoor birds per instructions and despite horrible snow and ice. Had 2 sitters who visited, a primary and a fill-in, one of the owners (Stewart).
I listed the price as excellent - it is between good and excellent. Being as they travel, it couldn't reasonably be lower. I can't penalize them because I took a long trip!
Have scheduled them again for an upcoming trip later this year. Would recommend to anyone.
"When the client contacted us about her puppy being outside without a leash, we immediately dismissed the walker from our company."
The owners are very nice and detail-oriented. Stewart scheduled a home visit with us and was patient with all of the pet-care details. We are frequent travelers and have been hiring Love Those Paws for about a year now. Great, consistent service, and affordable!
