Both calls were initially returned by Dons wife who quickly scheduled an appointment. Don showed up on time and did excellent work for a reasonable cost. He sincerely made suggestions on work to keep costs down. Knowledgeable and work was performed quickly. Also gave me advice on other issues in my older home. Very honest and trustworthy.

Since they fixed the problem I have not had any more problems. He came out and got the work done quickly. I was disappointed in the fact that it took a while to diagnose the problem. He had to do a number of quick fixed before he was finally able to permanently fix the problem.

20 days after my last recharge, my A/C unit needed freon again. Obviously, I am going to need a new unit. Don, the technician, was at my house within the hour. I informed him that I would be shopping around for a replacement A/C. I told him I would go with the best price and wouldn't guarantee I would purchase the unit from Elkridge A/C. I did ask that his company put in a bid. After Don recharged my unit I asked him for the bill. He informed me there would be no charge that it was on them. Yes I know they will be bidding on replacing my A/C unit, but with no guarantee I would use them, I think that was great PR.

My A/C unit was freezing up. I called Elkridge A/C and the mechanic, Don, was at my home with the hour. Don was professional and answered all of my questions Besides that he was a really nice guy.
I had my until recharge a month ago and it was already in need of freon. Don did a leak test of the whole until and could not find a leak. The coil could not be completely accessed so he added a can of stop-leak as a precaution and added freon to recharge the unit. He had found that a cap was missing on the unit and could possibily be the reason for the leak. He replaced and cap and up to this point everything is ok. Hopefully this time next month it will still be working.

Last evening at about 6:15 I noticed our 14 year old gas furnace was blowing cool air, no heat. I checked everything I could and saw that the blower fan was running but no flame from the gas burners. With the outside temps very cold and overnight temps getting even colder and with two children and wife just getting over a bad cold, I got on Angie's List to check and call a heating repair service. Saw that another company had great reviews. Called their emergency number and eventually spoke with someone. Explained the situation to him and the first question he asked was, and quot;Do you have a service contract with us?and quot; Huh? I told him no and he said that they would not be able to get anyone to my house until around noon the next day!!! Are you kidding?
My house is getting colder by the minute and this guy who claims to have emergency service but what, only if I have a service contract? He didn't ask me anything about our heating system or did I check anything, etc or even where I was located (about 20 minutes away from their location).. Just do I have a service contract. I couldn't believe it.
I then called a firm located in Elkridge (Elkridge Air Conditioning and Heating) and their service tech was at my house in less then 30 minutes,diagnosed the probelm by looking at the fault light, told me what part Ineeded (but unfortunately he did not have that particular item on his truck) but said he would reset the circuit board fault and we should be good to go with heat until he could return with the exact part. He reset the fault, the burners lit, the blower blew and we had heat! The unit has ran all evening and all night and early today I received a call that he will be returning this morning to replace the part that caused the fault. Now THAT'S emergency service!!

Our (25 year old) unit was running but not working, they responded quickly to my call and replaced an inexpensive part quickly. They waited when I had to come home from work to let them in. The gentleman who came was very friendly, very quick, and knew what he was doing. The unit stopped working again two months later (blowing but not cold) and they again came out quickly and resolved the problem inexpensively. I will be calling them again in the future.

My wife and I have been using Elkridge AC and Heating since we moved into our home in 2008. The home was built in 2000. The company is privately owned and local. Sometimes we have to leave a message to schedule an appointment. But otherwise, I couldn't be happier with their service. Our downstairs unit has a very small refrigerant leak. So we have the unit serviced each spring. We always forget until the first hot day. Then we are desperate. Elkridge always finds a way to squeeze us into their schedule. They are very nice and the technician always tries to recommend what is in our best interest and will provide us the best value. He never suggests any work that isn't needed. For example, he cleaned the contacts on our thermostat instead of replacing it. He talked to me about it and felt that this would probably work out for several years so that we could defer the replacement. But he offered to do the replacement If I preferred and even recommended a brand if I wanted to buy it from Lowe's or Home Depot and install it myself. Of course, the thermostat is still working fine. I asked him about repairing the leak. He said we could but that it would be very expensive since the system is obsolete with no replacement parts available. It would require a complete replacement and several thousand dollars. He suggested we continue to service it each spring until the leak gets severe. He could easily have racked up a large fee by jumping at the replacement opportunity. His annual service call is always less that $250, including the technician calling or stopping back by our home late in the day just to make sure everything is going well. Elkridge is precisely the kind of company I always look for. They are customer oriented and above all honest! I highly recommend them.

It went great. They came within an hour of me calling them about the problem. They called before they came to make sure of my availability. The technician was professional. He explained everything that he was doing, what the problem was, what was need to fix it and the fact that the needed part was under warranty. The next day he called to say the part was in and if I was available for him to come install it. The part needed was practically a total replacement of the guts. He was professional and did not make a mess at all. I would highly recommend Elkridge Heating and Cooling.

After giving up on another company, I called these guys. They quickly troubleshot the problem and recommended that I buy a new furnace. They quoted me a price, $1400, then came out the next day and installed it. They did not charge for the first day of troubleshooting. The guy was quick and pleasant. Nine months later the furnace stopped working, but they came out, and repaired it at no charge. The problem was not with the installation, but the unit itself.

THE AC COMPANY WAS VERY RESPONSIVE. TROUBLESHOOTED THE PROBLEM QUICKLY AND THEN REPAIRED THE AC UNIT. WE HAVE USED THIS COMPANY MANY TIMES AND THEY HAVE ALWAYS DONE A GOOD JOB.
