backwashed and informed us that the acid neutralizer need to be dumped and rebedded. We had that done for $340.00. A week later still had a water problem, called them back and we were told they believed the dump and rebeding would have taken care of problem. Know are told we needed a new system. $1,100.00 more for new system.
"this a landlord tenat deal we tried to repair the old system to keep the cost down for the landlord but ended up replacing the unit it was very old"
"hey (member name removed) you said on angies list you will not use me again i am a little confused. i went way beyond what i had to do to resolve you well problem. i got the factory to give you a new pump and i spent time replacing parts in your well that truly did not need replacing. As it turned out the problem was with your existing cross line. i also found a reliable cotractor to locate and repair your leak. I think you are being very unfair in your review. art gilliam"
The technician was prompt and polite. He clicked the system through the regeneration stages, then he turned down the amount of salt the system would use (just lowers the water level in the brine tank), and he was done. $90. His fix sort of helped the issues, but it didn't fix them.
I recently called another company out to service the unit, and this guy actually took the entire head of the system apart to inspect (now I know it's not all that complicated--just a few screws); turns out all of the fittings were clogged from the high iron content in the well water in our area, and the piston was worn beyond limits. No wonder the regeneration and the bypass lines weren't working properly. He told me the normal service life for the piston was about 5 yrs, so it should have been a routine check by the WaterCheck technician. Plus, this other company actually performed all this work of a true service call for $5 less than WaterCheck.
I figure if you're coming out for a service call, then you should SERVICE the unit. Now I know. I basically wasted $90 on a and quot;serviceand quot; that WaterCheck didn't perform. I, personally, would NOT trust them for future work.
