Read the review from Dawn W in 2021. We had the exact same experience. Poor quality workmanship. No communication. No site foreman and Jeff went on 3 vacations during our 5 mo. project which should've taken half that. Jeff is a nice guy but over 60K, I deserved better.

I have a specific thought and this company is always willing to work with me to find the materials so they completed the job as I stated. They were very careful.

This is the third project we hired MD Contracting and Design to do in our home. We had them convert our dinning room into a first floor bedroom with attached bath. The bath needed to be handicap accessible for my mother who was moving in with us. We needed it done quickly and they delivered. The bedroom and bathroom turned out great. The first project they did for us was a screen room a few years ago which was outstanding. We had them come back and replace our roof and leaking skylight. They also replaced our outdated stair railing with a more modern one. All the work has been great and the cost reasonable. We highly recommend MD Contracting and Design. The owner Jeff is easy to work with and delivers what he promises.

Hired Maryland Contracting to remodel my kitchen and had a wonderful experience with both Jeff the owner and his workers throughout the whole experience even though the materials and products were extremely hard to get. We are absolutely thrilled with the end product and the service we received!

Maryland Contracting & Design completely remodeled our master bathroom and I love it! The whole process of selecting the materials I wanted down to the paint color was made easy with the help of Norean & Jeff. The crews were very friendly and neat. My new bathroom looks amazing and I am so happy I went with the heated floors!

Jeff is a nice guy, no doubt. I hired him to remodel 2 bathrooms, paint my bedroom and hang 2 doors. I asked him before I hired him if he had a habit of leaving his jobs stranded while working on other projects, and he assured me that a team would be here every day until the work was complete. I know now that was just not true. We signed the paperwork last April, started the 1st bathroom in August, and just finished that same bathroom in December. It was a small bathroom that should have been done in 6 weeks, tops.. Meanwhile, I hired other companies to do the work in my bedroom, and my bathroom will not be started until next year sometime. Jeff is a contractor who hires other contractors for each separate job, i.e., electrical, plumbing, etc..the people that show up to do the work do not work for Jeff, and that makes a difference. We have a flexible schedule and can arrange to be home when workers are in the house, but many people showed up after 5pm. We were told several times that someone would be here to do the work, and no one would show up. Zero communication does not make for good customer relations, and we count ourselves lucky to have gotten a completed bathroom at this point. Though we were paying customers, we were treated like some side job he was doing for free. It was either more than he could handle, or it is plain incompetence. I do not care at this point, except it was a mistake to hire Jeff, and I hope to save others the trouble that we experienced.

Jeff T. and Maryland Contracting and Design created a dream Master Bath for us. Every stage of the process from design suggestions to demo to finished Bath was done to perfection. Jeff and all his subs were professional and timely. All our goals were achieved resulting in a Master Bath which was more than I imagined! Thank you, Jeff, for a beautiful project!

Based on other reviews, I expressed concern about Jeff's level of oversight from the outset. He assured me it would not be a problem. He met with me face to face exactly once over 4 months (other than to collect money). He contends he was out several times in my absence and checked everything (see workmanship comment below), but for every issue, I had to send pictures instead of having him come see for himself. Equally troublesome were statements made that were simply not factual - Jeff: "they [inspection office] don't give out phone numbers". I have names and numbers of 3 of our inspectors; Jeff: "ask dispatch to contact inspector but they won't give times, only the day". I secured a 2-3 hour window of time for every inspection we had. For a couple, I even was able to have the inspector call me when he was on his way so I could avoid missing much time at work. Jeff: "outlet can be beside the plumbing rough-in". Inspector required the electrician to move the outlet. (Just some examples). As for the workmanship - generally OK, but not good enough to recommend: rough framing for a 5-foot door was built to 4 feet; 2 walls were visibly out of square; drywallers covered up an HVAC duct vent; tilers installed a broken tile rather than use one from the spare box of tile that we still have. Some cracked wood trim was installed anyway. Clean up was left up to us - we had to haul drywall scraps, nails, scrap lumber to the dumpster ourselves. Cleaned up drywall dust about 12 inches deep in a paper grocery bag from the floor prior to the flooring people coming.

Jeff's lack of communication, coordination and planning made a simple project very frustrating. He promised to drop by 1 to 2 times a week and we saw him about 4 times total during an 8 week renovation. Jeff didn’t tell us when workers would show up and when they did show up many times they had no idea what work needed to be done nor did they have the supplies. The final work is nice but the process was horrible. I would never recommend this company.

I have had several excellent experiences using Jeff's services for improvements to my home, including an addition which is our favorite room in the house. I have found Jeff to be extremely fair, reliable and professional to work with.
