FRANK'S GUTTER & ROOFING

First, the good: The actually services met expectations. But, the team arrived unannounced on a Saturday when I was out of town and mostly out of cell range. My son called after the team had already started and I told the representative from Franks that my son would pay by credit card. (I usually pay them by check). Franks credit card reader didn’t work and payment couldn’t be completed onsite. The credit card offered was in good standing and able to make the payment (which I can establish). Frank’s left without payment. And I was in the mountains mostly out of cell range. For the following three days, I got a series of the most unprofessional phone calls, and emails. When I was able to speak by phone with a representative, they were equally unprofessional on the call. I paid in full on the following Wednesday. Just a few days after the services and as soon as I was able after getting back into cell range. Had I written a check, it likely would not have cleared through the bank in the same amount of time. I have copies of the emails and voice messages. So, for showing up unannounced and then following that up with the most unprofessional communication I have ever experienced from a vendor, Frank’s has lost a loyal customer of many years. Too bad as I was getting ready to recommend to friends.

Paul was great and extremely accommodating. The crew arrived right on time, they were finished in 4 hours. They cleaned up all the debris as well. Our roof is small but it was great. It really looks nice and we’ll reach out to them again for gutters and soffit replacement.

They are great. Very good work and cleaned up so well after themselves I didn't even know they had been there till I looked at my previously leaf filled gutters. They have done gutter cleaning for me for about 2 years now. They noticed a problem this last time, called me on my cell phone and fixed the issue then and there with my approval. Honest, great prices, I'm totally impressed.

I have no complaints about installation in 2005.  In 2011, after I called for assistance, they said they would send someone out to inspect.  I never heard anything back.  I called, left a voice mail, and still never heard back.  So I had someone else inspect and repair the roof.  I didnt hear anything for months until they contacted me for an alleged overdue invoice - for the inspection and repair that i had never heard anything back about.  There was nothing done by them - and now they are hounding me over the $100 charge that they claim is for the roof repair.  They threaten to sue me - their apparent tactic to get me to pay for what was never done -and i have a rental property management company and the contractor who did fix the roof as witnesses to the fact that no repair was done by them!

It was a good experience. We were having some bad weather and they got out as soon as they could and did a good job. They quoted and gave us a fair price and everything went well.

They were incredibly responsive. They came over within a couple of days. The work was completed quickly and was done very well and promptly. We were very satisfied with their service and will definitely use them again.

I purchased house in June with need to get the roof repaired. Their schedule was so full that i wasn't able to schedule the repair with my schedule until October. The bid was fair and once we were able to get it scheduled, they showed up on time and did the job with good speed. The trouble came after. I don't think they did something wrong with the job that they were paid for, but I don't think they really looked hard enough for the underlying roof problem. When we were doing the estimate, Frank insisted that all it needed was a coating and not any other options - such as flashing or membrane. While the turret problem has clearly ceased, I have water damage all along the roof line with two really soft spots where places in the ceiling have come down over time. They come out to take a look at it and recoat the spots, but we've reach the point where three recoatings is too much to still be having these problems. I wouldn't recommend them because I feel like their initial assessment of the problem failed to actually find the solution.

They are very reasonable and their work is very good.

Asked the company to clean the gutters, after some back and forth they finally came out and cleaned the gutters, and I send them a check. Unrelated, two weeks later I had someone over to check on the roof, and the person recommended that I should get my gutters cleaned! Turns out the company had only cleaned about half of the gutters. Of course I complained, and initially they said they would send someone over to check. Since this never happened I complained again, and after I explained my situation the person on the other side got extremly rude and began shouting. I insisted that they either come out and finish the job or give me my money back, and the other person hung up. I never heard from them again, and I had to call another company to finish the job. When they came out I checked for myself to confirm that they had indeed not cleaned a large (and crucial) part of the gutter.

We called several different contractors on Angie's list to come give estimates as we realised that two of our gutters had completely come away. We had very different experiences with all of them. MG roofing took our address and never showed, so we didn't call them back and didn't use them. Bartlett exteriors and central roofing were both professional companies with someone in the office answering the calls, and estimators who came out when they said they would. Both told us we should replace all the gutters around the entire house ( the gutters at the back were fine) and the downspouts, and Bartlett also suggested we do the roof at the same time as it is 20 years old ( but seems to be OK so far). They also both suggested the leaf cover gutters. Central was actually more than Bartlett - but both were over $1,000 - Central's quote was more - about $1800 for gutter replacement alone. Neither would repair the gutters we had. We called Frank and he answered and said he would try to come by the next day. He came by about a week later (we didn't call to remind him) and he was definitely the least expensive and not out to charge us more than we needed. He offered to repair the broken gutters for $250 or replace them for $550. He also pointed out to us that the gutters at the back were 6 inch gutters and larger than those at the front, so probably had previously been replaced ( which the other companies didn't remark on). He had no interest in doing the roof - or putting leaf covers on the gutters ( as his other half of the business is gutter cleaning so it probably doesn't make too much sense to him). He followed up his visit with a hand written estimate which arrived in the mail. We called him a couple of weeks later and told him we would like him to replace the 3 gutters at the front , and he said he could do it soon. He didn't show when he said ( and didn't call), and when we called him , he apologised and rescheduled. I think this happened one more time, but then the new gutters showed up one day and the next day three guys came and replaced the gutters at the front and side. They took away all the old gutters and cleaned up nicely. They didn't ask for any money or any signature. That night Frank called, and asked us to mail him a check which we did. So basically he is very honest and you get what you pay for. Its not always exactly when you thought it would be, but he does get the job done if you have a little patience, and you won't pay as much as going through the bigger companies.

They did an outstanding job. They were very quick and efficient. They also cleaned up once the work was done. I had a good experience with them.

Unbelievable! I noticed that a downspout had fallen down and called Frank's and they were out the very next day, took care of it and cleaning the gutters, and charged less than I normally pay for the gutters alone! It was about as good as it gets.

I liked that he responsive to my leaving a message and they called me back in one days time. They tell you upfront what the cost will be. They were candid with me and gave me good advice when it came to the gutter covers.

Gutter job was OK (although sharp steel screws through joints makes cleaning gutters a very uncomfortable task.) But did not arrive with enough replacement slates or metal strips to hold them in place and used some I had on hand. Slate repairs were made by walking on the roof without any safety equipment (really stupid and scary on a steep slate roof!) and ended up damaging a number of slates resulting in serious leaks that weren't found until much later (after warranty period) owing to finished interior. Some slates were "replaced" by pushing the broken pieces back into place and using a nail to hold in place - putting an additional hole in other slates. Snow guards were nailed in place also breaking slates and creating leaks. Frank did respond to one call to repair a leak his workers had caused and that had damaged a ceiling but came without proper equipment and had to borrow my ladders. Maybe he'd be OK on just gutters and asphalt but he isn't welcome back at my site.

Everything went great. Did not have to be at home at any time for the work that was done. The owner came back a couple of times at my request, and at no cost, to check out a few things. He did this with no complaint. Very happy with the work that was done.

We have used Frank's twice and have been very happy with the work. It has been done carefully and quickly. Our plantings are particularly important to us, and he is always very careful not to trample our garden.

I left a message. They returned my call quickly, and said they'd be out in a few days. They were halfway through cleaning before I even knew they were there. They were very nice, and worked quickly and left no sign of having been there. Was very pleased with the service I received for the price.

I had to call them back as they forgot to complete the job. Two sections of gutters were missing the screens and one downspout was installed slightly crooked. Some of the screens look damaged or crooked.

He did a good job. I would use him again.

Excellent workers, punctual and professional. Came back next year to clean gutters. Without reservation I recommend Frank and his crew.

They were okay. They were punctual, polite, and knowledgeable.

Does a good job at very good price. Getting in touch with owner can be difficult but he does come through.

HE HELPED US A LOT IN DECIDING WHAT SHINGLES TO USE. ONCE THEIR CREW STARTED THE JOB THEY CAME CONSTANTLY BUT IT TOOK THEM A LONG TIME TO START THE JOB.
