The project started out well. Work was progressing on schedule. As a week went by, due dates slipped and promises were not kept. This continued throughout the life of the project. There was a 2-week period when we did not hear from him and assumed he stopped working. Attention to detail was not there. He was distracted by bad project management of multiple projects--doing too many different jobs at once. He can do things he knows how to do. Go outside of comfort zone, and issues arise.

Response from Brentwood Construction & Design
This project started as a moderate kitchen remodel and to finish a bathroom in the basement. It grew to a major kitchen down-to-the-studs reconfiguration. They then added: an upstairs bathroom remodel, new drywall in the living with recessed lighting and crown molding, a new laundry room, new doors and windows, stair railings and shelves, deck and fence stain and repair, masonry work and a new gate, new appliances, plumbing and electric. We met every day at 5:00 to discuss the project. The clients had a great deal of difficulty making decisions. All of the extra changes caused me to put other projects on hold. There was one or two more days of work left to complete a few final items and I told them that I had to start the other job or I would loose it. I said that I would come back in the next two weeks. When I came back to finish the items I found that they had hired someone else without notifying me. I told the other company to leave and we finished the work. These people received a fantastic kitchen with new walls, plumbing, electrical, new cabinets, new granite counters, new custom marble backsplash, custom flooring, custom lighting, new windows, new appliances, 2 bathrooms with extensive tile work, new walls and lighting. A few months after we finished the work they sold the house and recovered over three times what the paid us in increased value. These people were very difficult to work with because they constantly complained about every little speck of dust on the floor and complained about things that were not yet finished. Because of all the complaining, I hired a professional cleaning crew to clean their entire house at my cost. The then complained about the work that the cleaning crew did.
