Jamie came out to survey the site and make his estimate; he responded very quickly to our Angie’s List message. He prescribed an interior excavation of the area, installation of a French drain, linking up the drain with a new sump pump and routing the drain pipe outside. He originally had us scheduled for Monday, April 29. He was able to get to us two days early, and his crew arrived promptly at 7:30am on Saturday the 27th! He first told us that it would probably be a two day job, but his crew finished everything by early Saturday afternoon :) We were blown away by the professionalism and thoroughness of Jamie Bennett’s team. Highly recommend Bennett Waterproofing!

Not only does Bennett's French drain system look sound and well-designed, but he went the extra mile in preserving our plantings and front porch, as well as in mulching the plants and putting down new gravel on a dirt walkway. The site was cleaned up immaculately, something that I rarely see anymore from contractors. This should end the leaks in our basement. Jamie and his crew are the best, and I recommend them without reservation. I can report that Bennett's waterproofing of our basement passed its first test with flying colors: a completely dry basement after 4+ inches of rain in ~12 hours from remnants of Hurricane Michael. Well done, Jamie.

After getting a few proposals from waterproofing companies, I decided to go with Bennett. James knows his business and after inspecting the problem area in the basement and outside, he provided options for me to consider. I found his pricing of the work to be similar to the other proposals solicited. He and his team were punctual, friendly and left the work area in great shape. I will certainly call him back for future projects.

James was a pleasure to work with. He always answered his phone, was patient with my questions, and took time to explain his thoughts and actions throughout the repair process. It was a muddy, messy, and physically demanding job but James and his guys worked quickly, left our house in great shape, and the quality of workmanship was clear. It's worth noting that the owner of the company was not only on site for the full two day job, but was the first to grab a shovel and did almost all the inside work himself. We highly recommend this company and are confident the basement will be dry now.

Our house had just sold and the prospective buyer discovered that there was a leak in the basement. This was so problematic that I contacted at least five other well reviewed companies for waterproofing here on Angies List. They all provided professional responses and did their consultations and came back with astronomical prices or suggestions that involved ripping the house apart. The problem was a clogged pipeline that carried groundwater from the front of the basement (outside the foundation) under the slab into the sump pump which was at the other end of the house. Unbeknownst to us that pipe had clogged and water was draining around it causing excess rainwater to seep through the cracks in the basement into the house. Nearly everyone suggested ripping out the floor and replacing that clogged pipe which would have been a monumental expense. James is fantastic. During my first phone contact I felt he was different. He was honest. But what set him apart was his sheer brilliance. Instead of replacing the whole pipe, he suggested that we just install interior drain tile and place a second sump pump right where the leak it, and it was literally half the price of what it would have cost me using the alternate method. Amazing! I gave him the job and never looked back. He finished the job in one day, cleaned up and left the house is great shape. My realtor who came by commented on how well the workmanship was, and that they had left without any trace of even work being done (but the work was done). What's more, come pay time, he was honest about not needing an outlet installed and reduced my price even further. He even honored the Angies List coupon for 10% on top of all that. I cannot say how pleased I am at the sort of man James Bennett is. I wish that I had discovered him sooner. I would heartily recommend him to anyone needing waterproofing work for that perfect balance of price and quality. Excellent!

Mr. Bennett and his crew arrived on time.  They completed the work the next day.
They were courteous and professional, and completed all they promised to do, and cleaned up neatly after themselves.

James Bennett was very professional in his approach and, unlike another company which inspected the basement and used fairly high pressure sales tactics to get us to do sign a contract, was low key and flexible around payment for the work that we agreed upon.  The work was scheduled quickly and begun on the agreed upon date.  The scope of the work that was required, which involved installing a new drainage system in the basement and applying waterproofing material to the basement walls, as well as installation of a second sump pump was completed in three days time.  New cement that was poured in the basement to cover the trench was smooth and even with the existing floor and the entire basement was left "broom clean."   Bennett's work is going to ensure the new homeowners will have a dry and moisture free basement far into the foreseeable future.  Very simply, quality work by a quality company that is both trustworthy and reliable.  I would not hesitate to recommend Bennett Waterproofing to anyone who needs any type of waterproofing work done in their basement.

The team at Bennett could not have been more responsive, empathetic or professional when we called. We walked into our home after being away and found a completely flooded basement. The Bennett team offered to visit in the evening same day we called but we ended up finding a convenient time on the weekend since no more rain was expected.  They did not charge us for the walk through, assessment and recommendations for different options to waterproof our home. When we are ready to invest into the more technical/structural solutions, we'll be calling them back.

James Bennett, President, installed a new sump pump.  He arrived on time and installed the new sump pump without any problems.  He explained how the pump works, how much water is pumped out each time the pump is triggered to discharge, and other useful information.  I believe that Mr. Bennett will give you an honest and accurate estimate and is very, very willing to satisfy the customer.  Having less than favorable experiences with other waterproofing companies, Bennett Waterproofing stands out and really should be at the top of your list and the company you choose.

They were really great from beginning to end. This really is a family-run business, and the son, Jamie, came out to give me an estimate. When I called to tell them that I wanted them to do the job, they scheduled me promptly and came right on time. They took care to blast through the basement floor in such a way that I would only need to replace one row of tiles where the work would be done. During their work, the discovery of a wall behind a wall created some extra work, but they didn't charge extra. (I added a sum onto their bill, though, to be fair.) Everyone worked incredibly hard while they were here and took great pride in their work. It's been almost a year and a lot of heavy rain, but there's been no water in the basement. Bennett also gave me a lifetime warranty. I'd recommend them to anyone that needed waterproofing done.

This was a tough job--2 large pickup loads of wet trash, concrete chunks, old vapor barrier, and 60 years of accumulated crawlspace trash, all hauled out of a 25x50' crawlspace with less than 5' headroom, through a single small trapdoor, followed by the drainage work and vapor barrier (plastic over fresh gravel) installation.  James and his 2 helpers worked straight through two full days, had great attitudes and did (as far as I can see, not being an expert) terrific work.  We would definitely hire him again (though we hope never again to own a home with a crawlspace again!).

The only reason I gave a B on price was that 6K was a tough bill for us, and we didn't shop around for other estimates.  Based on Bennett's reputation and quality of work, though, I'm confident it's a fair price for the work he did.

This company is great! Jamie added some hydraulic cement because the cinder blocks were damaged. Jamie started and completed work at exactly the time estimated. He cleaned up all the debris and left the basement in good condition. I had gotten several estimates from the larger nationwide companies but Jamie outbid them all and provided the same lifetime warranty which is transferable.

They did a good job. I even referred them to someone else. They were very professional and even cleaned up after themselves. They are a small company, but they are very, very good. I am very pleased! They even told me that, if I had any problems to give them a call. I've even had a hard rain, since they did the work and haven't seen any water.
