First, we had a heck of a time finding a vendor serving our address (a populous suburb of the nation's capital) to fix our 13-year-old Anderson casement window. This was necessitated by a home inspector's report for the party buying our home; the repair had to be completed by the time we went to settlement. Apparently, Anderson service providers are spread quite thin, at least in our region; they are much more numerous for sales. I had assumed that Wash DC would be better served. Once we found Chuck Stover--a combination of Angie's List and cross-referencing with other Web sites including Anderson's unhelpful site--things became quite easy and informal. He apparently works out of his car while covering half of creation, but stayed in contact reliably WRT parts availability and appointment-setting. We were pleased that he was able to diagnose the problem and identify the part number and availability entirely by phone/e-mail by our verbal description and e-mailing him a camera-phone snapshot of the broken part. That saved us a service call charge ($125) just to evaluate the problem.
About a week or so later, he called to report he had the part and could install immediately. Punctual for the appointment, he was friendly and professional, and made short work of it and then was gone--a painless and effective experience in stark contrast to finding a repair service at the outset.
The only pause I felt was the overall cost of the service given the seemingly minor scope of the task and the rather unimpressive technology Anderson provided. While I had no problem with Chuck's charge for repair labor ($75) or Anderson's charge for the part ($30), I thought--based on nothing more than gut feeling--that a $125 service call fee on top of parts and labor ($230 total) seemed a bit much. Though tempted to belabor the labor point, I'm left basically grateful for the work by an efficient , orderly, and personable technician in a region apparently starved of such specimens by either design or neglect on Anderson's part.

I got to know about them through Angie’s list. They did a great job. The window looks perfect. I think the people that worked were subcontractors and I am not sure about that. However, the people that came did a great job. The original company were sometimes little difficult to contact. Overall, the job turned out to be nice. Anderson windows recommended them to me as it is a specialty job. I could not even compare the prices.

He did an outstanding job, he was extremely friendly, and he adjusted his schedule to accommodate a showing to a prospective buyer. The only hard part was getting in touch with him to schedule the appointment.

Chuck is on time or communicates if there are traffic delays. He is very polite, professional and careful. He cleans up and hauls away everything. He makes a determination based on location and his current workload. As a result of the quality of work he does and his professionalism he is very busy and may not accept your job. He is worth waiting for.
