1-Gentleman (Greg King) coached and educated me on what products were required to prepare my lawn for my impending SALE. Mr. King was Prompt, Pleasant and PROFESSIONAL ! He instructed me to insure my SUCCESS ! He went one step above and beyond, he transported my purchases to my car and loaded them for me, I have several physical limitations ! (Rating for Mr.King A+) He provided me with written instruction for current and future lawn enhancement procedures !
Normally, I go to Dunkirk Hardware in Owings Maryland due to price, products and Personnel, but I had a coupon and decided to go to ACE in Edgewater MD.
(3) three out of (4) four is pretty fair, but I was really surprised when I spoke to the store Manager, the primary leader and critical role model for all personnel at ACE !
He was much to my surprise very unhappy with being asked to come up front to meet with a CUSTOMER ! His statement was what do you need ? I was very unhappy with his tone and his rude response directly in front of (2) two employees and (2) two CUSTOMERS ! I asked him to step away from the front entry and speak to me he took (1) one step and again repeated, 'what do you need ?' I told him that I did NOT need anything and that I would share my input with some who had the time and or interest in what I might have to say. I then turned and left ACE Home & Leisure at 89 Central Ave West in Edgewater Maryland !
Let me assure you that the Manager was NOT the helpful hardware man that I expected to meet and in this case ENDURE !
The delivery and installation was the problem. My wife called on 5/22/2013 to schedule delivery and installation and was told the Hearth Mat we had purchased in March was not in. Without the mat, no installation could be done. Three weeks later, the mat was in and installation was scheduled for June 5,2013.
The used stove (to be installed in our recently renovated family room) arrived as filthy as the day we saw it at the store. The installer worked very hard to fix the situation by cleaning and painting the stove, but did it in our recently painted and carpeted room. My wife was beside herself and immediatly emailed the owner. His return email said he would look into the whole mess.
A month later, I wrote to the owner and within an hour I received a call from a customer service rep who apologized for dropping the ball and asked if there was anything she could do. I told her that my wife was the one injured and to speak with her. She then suggested perhaps a free cleaning of our stoves in summer of 2014 (valued at $325.00). I said to talk to my wife.
The next day,my wife spoke to the service rep and suggested free pellets for our stoves, as we haden't even used the stoves yet and
received 1/2 ton of pellets valued at approxmately $100.00
