I have used Dr. Harmon for approximately ten years for my beloved pets. Dr. Harmon can handle any situation from common routine examinations to expertise treatments found in specialized veternary doctors in larger cities. My beloved Zoey needed cancer treatments from a specialized animal hospital that I could not travel to due to the inclement winter conditions. Treatments were over nighted and Dr. Harmon help extend the quality of life Zoey and I shared.

The staff at the front desk are great, and most of the docs are friendly and efficient. We never have to wait very long to be seen, and we're usually finished pretty quickly. I always feel like they cover the basics well. I just wish they were a little more thorough sometimes. I worry that they assume my dogs are healthy, which they usually are, but I'm not sure the cursory examination they give would suffice if they weren't. One of my dogs has had bad plaque since she was a puppy, and my previous vets always monitored this carefully. When I mentioned it to one of the vets at Hillside, he dismissed it with a tone that implied I was a hypochondriac. I appreciate that they aren't putting me and my dogs through unnecessary and expensive procedures, but I don't like being made to feel like I am obsessive because I care about my dogs' health. I also feel that they sometimes push me to use the dog food brand that they sell, when I know that it's actually not quality food.

Hillside Animal Hospital is not close to me, but I make the long drive because he's the only I trust. He's been in practice for 35 now. The people there are extremely and all very knowledgeable on the animals. You can ask the techs questions and if they don't know, they'll always ask the vets. They can always fit you in, if you need an appointment. There's not a wait. You may sit five or ten minutes but not like some other offices. If you have your appointment around 1:30, that's when your appointment should be. I'm glad that they are responsive of my time. There are three vets and they're excellent. They never meet a strange dog. They're really good with them. I've had some big dogs and they act like they're old friends with him. He referred my daughter to a different vet when she needed help with her reptile. If he doesn't know how to do something, he'll refer you to someone who will.

I only see two doctors that was, Dr. Sam Harman and Dr. Ben Harman. They were wonderful with the animals. We had Lucky my dog who was getting sick in December, so we took him and could not find a problem at all. They told me all that I could do. I called Dr. Sam several times as I did not know what to do. Lucky was my baby. Dr Sam called me mid day and spoke to me for an hour or an hour in the half. To calm me down and understand what lucky was going through and who I can help him. It was dramatic to me. When it was time to put him down I called Dr. Sam and said bring him down right now. When I talked to the receptionist they told me to bring him down until later in the afternoon. We then got him his chicken nuggets and ice cream cones. Dr. Sam took him inside and Sam was crying with us. That was how special it was. He took his time during the day to talk to me.

They have been seeing my dogs, cat, and rats for two years now. Very friendly service and my dogs love them, I don't think they are used to "exotic" pets thought (rats).
