West & Callahan Inc

Initiation of the work was delayed due to legitimately more pressing repairs needed by other clients in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.  This was beyond anyone's control and was entirely reasonable.  Once West and Callahan were able clear up the backlog of projects to get to our project they started and completed the work in one day and did a great job.  The site was well cleaned to remove any debris generated during the work.  We dealt with Chuck Callahan, son of the owner (Charles Callahan).  Chuck is very friendly, highly professional and courtreous.  He put us at ease about the project.  He exhibited a depth of knowledge, which was very reassuring.  The final cost was reasonable and did not differ much from the original estimate.  Chuck even stopped by our place on a Saturday to show me a sample of the Azek PVC material he recommended using (Saturday was more convenient for us, probably less so for him- so we appreciated his going out of his way).  Additional work (cleaning out the large amount of debris from under the crawlspace) had to be done up-front, and this was only apparent once the project was initiated and this increased the final cost slightly.  Very good documentation was provided to support any increased cost. We are very happy with the job that Chuck (West and Callahan) did and would recommend West and Callahan to anyone in need of a good, experienced building contractor.
