I have been using Eagle Tire for about 7 years, and they have been consistently trustworthy, in addition to the great work they do. The fact that you usually have to make an appointment and wait a few days, depending on the extent of the work you need, is a testament to their reputation. They provide customers with options to meet your considerations, such as budget and the age of your vehicle. Family owned and operated. It's a great business.

Bottom Line Up Front: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EAGLE TIRE FOR THE PURCHASE OF TIRES AS WELL AS ANY AND ALL AUTOMOBILE MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS BASED ON THEIR CONSISTANTLY DEMONSTRATED HONESTY, FAIR PRICING, AND CUSTOMER FOCUS.

First a little background: So, whenever I move to a new area, one of my first OCD driven tasks is to find an auto shop that I feel I can trust. Before we moved to S. Maryland, we were using a guy that worked on the weekends out of a small garage in his backyard who earned my unwavering loyalty over the course of 5 years. Needless to say, I was very disappointed I had stop using him and try and find someone that I felt lived up to these expectations I now had.

My first attempt was at a direct competitor of Eagle's (I'm not a negative name dropper), a little further down the road. I brought my 2 cars in for the one-time MD inspection. Well, apparently a running light was burned out on the Tacoma and of course they could not pass it without first replacing it. So I give the thumbs up to replace the bulb, and think nothing of it....until I saw the bill and the $45 charge for them to change a $2 light bulb. I levied no arguments or complaints, I approved it without questions. But my search did continue in earnest.

So that brings me to Eagle Tire. This experience is actually one of many I have had over the past 7 years, all of which have been nothing but positive. One example that stands out in my head, when we replaced tires on the Tacoma, the mechanic forgot to ask if I wanted the white lettering out, which I did. When the owner saw I was disappointed, he proposed that when we bring the truck back for a free tire rotation, his crew would dismount them all and remount the way we wanted. That was very fair in my book (I felt I should have made clear which way I wanted the tires facing before they were mounted, and did not place all the blame on them), so a quick note was made in our account, and as promised, I had white letters facing out a few months later.

So now the details on this A/C compressor replacement. I'm not sure if you the reader have ever owned a vehicle with an "aftermarket" extended warranty, but they vary greatly in their customer service, speed of payment, and willingness to comply with the agreed upon contract. Now I'm not talking about a Ford Motor Company warranty extension where you bring it to the dealer and the level of service is seamless when compared to the original. These are often offered by used car lots, finance companies, and online auto-shopper websites. It can often be an issue in some areas finding a shop that is willing to deal with the almost certain headaches and aggravation associated with making claims through these plans.

Well, to my delight, there was no hesitation by the Eagle Tire staff when I asked if they would work with the warranty company I was using. They had no issues with me making a claim for this A/C issue, which was starting to look more and more like a $2,500 job....oof! Well, as expected, the warranty company aggressively reared up when Eagle informed them that this one repair was essentially going to cost them more than the original price I paid for the coverage.

This is when the staff at Eagle really impressed me. They essentially took on the ad hoc role, very willingly and with great enthusiasm, representing my interests to the warranty company. Here was an auto repair shop, going to bat for me, John Q. Customer against a very stingy and well strategized company that had one goal, write as small a number on that check as possible. The warranty company was essentially insisting that Eagle go against the industry accepted and Toyota recommended procedure of replacing other specific A/C components that had likely been contaminated by the failure of the compressor and resulting metal shards. They wanted physical proof that there was metal shards in these parts, which was impossible to demonstrate without a major teardown of all the at-risk components. Further, the company providing the rebuilt compressor was unwilling to guarantee the unit if the other components were not changed as well.

Like sands through the hour glass, These are the days of our auto repair lives.......

While this is all unfolding, Eagle's staff is keeping me completely up to speed, and discouraging me from making good on my threats to call the warranty company in a state of pure rage. "This would sore our strategy" they told me (These guys should work for the State Dept.), so I stepped back from that ledge and let them do their thing.

In the end, after a week or so of Eagle advocating very strongly for a full replacement of all components, it was a battle we were not to win. The warranty company, who really held all the chips, was willing to wait it out longer than we were. They did however manage to get the compressor warranty back into force despite not being able to comply with the full system replacement.

It is rare to find a company that is so willing to do the right things for their customers. The Eagle Tires staff basically put the immediate profit motive you normally see as a driving factor in so many businesses aside to ensure the customer is taken care of, and in this type of case, well represented. They had absolutely no obligation to represent my interests so vehemently to a company they would be much better off playing nice with. Keep in mind, during this entire process, they dedicated a significant number of man-hours to coordinate and process this claim as well as the fact that the truck was also taking up a bay.

So was I disappointed that Eagle wasn't able to convince the warranty company to come correct? Sure, but I also knew there really was no chance, but the way they went about it has earned my loyalty and strongest possible recommendation.

Eagle Tire did a wonderful job. They clearly explained everything that had to be done and answered all my questions. I trust them completely with all my vehicles. Fair prices and they do not overcharge on labor. Excellent service and everyone who works there is polite and friendly.

They're very friendly. They charged the price like most anybody else charges. They almost do the work. If they missed something, they were more happy to fix it right away.

Tires were ordered on Monday. Dropped car off early Tuesday morning. Problem with right front ball joint identified. They called with an estimate before continuing work. Car was ready by 5:30. This is the repair shop I have used for the past 20 years, and I have always been happy with their service.

They are a good company and good in customer service with a helpful staff. I've got a car there right now, but the last thing I had done was an oil change. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They are worth what they charge, the quality is good. They are very responsive and punctual.
