Avoid this builder at all costs. Our experience building our house in Bethesda has been nothing short of a nightmare. One year after they supposedly “finished” construction, we’re still left with a long list of unresolved issues—some of them major. The build quality is sloppy, corners were clearly cut, and their attention to detail and project management capabilities are nonexistent. To make matters worse, the project was riddled with unjustified delays from day one. Timelines meant nothing to them. Weeks turned into months with no progress and no explanation. We were constantly chasing updates, only to be met with vague excuses or complete silence. The delays weren’t due to weather, supply issues, or anything outside their control—they were simply disorganized, unaccountable, and careless with our time. The customer service and support were abysmal. Reaching out felt like shouting into the void—emails were ignored, phone calls went unanswered, and when we did manage to get someone’s attention, they made promise after promise but never followed through. They were completely unwilling to take responsibility for anything. The same goes for their subcontractors—none of them accepted any accountability either. It was clear: they simply don’t care. The owner, Rob, was the biggest disappointment of all. Once the contract was signed and the money was paid, he disappeared. No follow-up, no concern, no ownership—just silence. This company operates with zero integrity, zero professionalism, and zero respect for their clients. Hiring them was one of the worst decisions we’ve ever made. If you’re considering them—don’t. Save yourself the stress, the financial loss, and the endless frustration. And if you’ve already hired them, you should seriously consider contacting a lawyer.

We really loved these guys.  We thought Rob Maggin was straightforward and friendly.  We didn't end up building a new home with them but they were super friendly and professional throughout.  They spent a lot of time designing a home for us, then they took us to a bunch of teardowns in their proprietary database to see if any worked for us.  My wife ended up deciding she didn't want to build a fully new given that we had our first child on the way - so we switched to renovations.  Rob was great and priced out the renovations quickly (maybe a week?).  While Rob has a penchant for forgetting your budget, he was always willing to revise any plans to get them back under budget.
We ended up finding a mostly turnkey home where we decided to add a bedroom, and Rob's price was about $15K over the other bids we got (about $140K if i remember correctly).  When we told Rob we were going with another builder (even after all his work) he was still super friendly and professional.  My wife & I liked Rob so much that we considered paying the extra just to 'know what we were getting' but we ended up going with the other Angies list approved builders.
Its pretty amazing that by using their realtor, Ken Bailey, that we covered all of their services that they had rendered to us previously as we had a full house designed by their in-house architect.
If anyone is considering a new home vs. an old home, then I would definitely recommend Rob & their services with Ken Bailey.  When we move to our next home, there is no doubt in my mind that we will be calling Rob & Paramount from the beginning.
