Joe is by far, the best contractor we?ve hired. And we have been involved in several major and minor renovation projects with a variety of contractors over the years. We were also pleased with Brian?s product lines, and his assistance in helping us design the spaces and selecting the best items for our project and budget. Joe and Brian were unfailingly pleasant, helpful, and accommodating with our need to save on costs, where possible. The process was surprisingly smooth, and the project stayed on budget and very close to the estimated completion date. Joe was proactive with questions for us, sent us photos of the work-in-progress, and was extremely responsive to our questions and needs for a few modifications. Throughout the project, he did very high quality work. And he cleaned very well?on both a daily basis, and when the job was completed. Brian was also quick to respond to our questions and concerns about materials. Both assured us that we could contact them if additional questions arose after the job was finished, which we did with a couple of minor problems that came up after installation. True to their word, they addressed the issues quickly and completely. As a side note, our brother-in-law who is very familiar with construction and lives in Ocean City, agreed to be a nearby contact and check on the project in our absence. He only had good things to say about the work when he visited the site. If you need work in Ocean City or nearby communities, we give my highest recommendations to Joe, and toBrian as his supplier. Our only wish is that they were located closer to Alexandria. Kasha and Mike Helget helget@cox.net
Description of Work: We own a 2 bedroom/2 bath condo in Ocean City, Maryland that was sorely in need of renovation (gut and reconfigure the kitchen with all new components, replace flooring throughout most of the unit, remove “popcorn” ceiling, reconfigure a closet space into two closets, and replace cabinetry, toilets, sinks/vanities, and bathroom floors). Ocean City is about 150 miles from our home in Alexandria, Virginia, and we were concerned about working with a contractor long distance. After checking with other renovation companies in the area, we met with Brian Flurer, the owner of Ocean City Kitchens and Bath (http://www.ockba.biz/). Joe Deinlein, the owner of Marlin Home Improvements (8466 Ascot Place, Delmar, MD 21875 (443) 497-3459) is Brian’s contractor. Joe was a primary factor in choosing to work with them. They worked together with us on the design, and Joe did all the demolition and installations, while Brian supplied the materials. Joe supplied the primary contract, which was simple and straight-forward.
