Terrible customer service experience. They were supposed to open my pool on May 5th. When they did not come, I called for an update. This was the only time they ever answered the phone. They said they would come the next day. That did not happen. I tried calling again but only reached the answering machine. I did not receive a return call. They finally came, unannounced, a few days later. They could not open the pool because they said that the water was too low. I take responsibility for this but their delay also gave the water in the pool time to evaporate. If I received a call, I could've checked the water. They promised to return in a couple days and I added water to the pool. They did not return for over a week. My daughter's birthday party was scheduled for May 15th. I called often to see when they planned to return and I explained my situation. I always got the answering machine, asking for patience because it was a busy time of the year. I asked them to please return my call so that I would know whether I should find someone else who could meet my deadline. They did not call me. I called over ten times and left messages. I just needed an update. I was frustrated and upset. They came the day after my daughter's party. My pool was closed for the event. They did not announce that they were coming. I opened the door when I saw them outside. I spoke with someone who seemed to be a manager. He explained that they were very busy and short staffed. I said that I just needed someone to let me know what was going on and communicate. He told me that they hired someone new to do that. He offered me no apology. They took the cover off the pool. Again the water was too low to perform the service. The water level was ultimately my fault, and I take responsibility for that. They put in the ladders. The pool was green. They said they would be back in a couple days to finish opening the pool. As I watched the pool turn deeper shades of green, I saw no evidence that they had returned to finish the job. Again I left multiple messages with no return call. I had another scheduled party; the water was the color of kale. It was the middle of June. At that point, I called Sunset Pool Contractors to finish the job. They did an outstanding job by simply returning my call, scheduling an appointment, and coming when they said they were going to come. They documented everything they did which was very helpful. I hired them to service the pool for the summer. It took them about two weeks to make the pool useable and get rid of the green. I highly recommend Sunset Pool Contractors. I thought that Pool Perfect gave up on the job. I did not hear from them all summer. Then I received an invoice in October. I was shocked. I called and left a message saying I was not paying the bill because they did not finish the job. That time they returned my call! They said that they did return to finish the job. So I paid them and am so glad that Sunset Pool Contractors is going to open my pool this year.
