Delivered in a day a true half cord. Guy was friendly

I would like to start with it was a pleasure meeting you and interacting the gentleman. I am presuming he was the owner. Upon delivery, I told him it looked a bit light. He assured me it was a full cord. However, once I stacked the wood it seems to be a bit short of a cord. I was expecting 128 cubic feet (4' x 4' x 8' = cord). When stacked the wood was roughly 84 cubic feet or about 2/3 of a cord. Doing the quick calculation this would put the cost I paid per cord at roughly $587 ($4.58 per cubic foot) versus the quote of $385 ($3.00 per cubic foot). I know the cost of gas alone is prohibitive to deliver the difference. I am not sure what to do at this point. What are your thoughts? After contacting them again, I was promised a subsequent delivery to make the difference. It has never arrived.

It was fair but the price was not what was agreed upon he sent a bill that was over what we had discussed.

They did an excellent job, price was reasonable and they were friendly and helpful.

Walker did a good job, overall. However, he was not aware of the number of hours we paid for and did not stay for the allotted time. He did not meet my expectations of a professional.

I had them come out yesterday and they're excellent, and I did get them from Angie's List. It was kind of a mess and there was just tons of weeds and plants out of control around the house, and the yard was overgrown. There was a hill that had to be cut down and we had a tree that was cut down and they took away the mulch; they just did a lot of different things. We have a hill behind our house and you just wouldn't believe it; it was just a mess. A different company had cut down the tree, but they just cleaned up. They were great; I'd give them an A in everything. They came last year. They're the only company that has been able to do anything with the back yard. People come and they say we're gonna plant this and we're gonna clean up this and we're gonna do this and it doesn't work. So what they do really is helpful and really does what we need. What I asked them to do, they did, and they did it well and it looks very nice and the price is very reasonable I think for everything they did.

This provider did not state I would have to self provide the bags for a yard cleanup. They left behind all the debris. Likewise, when I spoke with them on the phone, they did not say I would need to provide bags. They tried to shake me down for another $65 to haul away leaves and branches. This was awful.

They were very kind on the phone and delivered excellent quality wood exactly where we asked, on time as promised. Quick turn around from our phone call to their delivery.

I guess they were fine, they were okay. We paid extra but they didn't used up the whole time we had paid for, we paid for three hours and they were here for half an hour left. So basically we paid for what the deal was, but they did not complete the entire timing. They were supposed to get back to me but I never did hear form them, we had an extra time that we didn't used up.

The only glitch in the service was a scheduling miscommunication. I had a Thursday @ 4:30 PM. When no one was there at 5:30, I called. Mr Walker said he thought it was Friday. He delivered the wood at 9:00 AM.

The job went well. And they took my criticism of stacking with a good attitude.

Mr. Walker and his crew were professional, on time and did a GREAT job. I will absolutely use their service again. Best garden service and maintenance I've had in years. Wonderful people and great service.

Mr. Walker and his crew did a FANTASTIC job. They arrived on time. Completed the task per my instructions. Everything was neat and tidy once they were done.

Service was fantastic.  Stayed open late to complete the job before a historic snow fall.  Improved the snowblower.  Very nice and competent.  Would definitely use them again.

The owner is very pleasant and was honest about the quality of the wood he was delivering. So that was good. It was a lot of poplar which is not very good for heat; but I knew that going in. He was also good about returning my initial phone call and letting me know when he would arrive. He was very likable when he arrived.
I know that most people in the DC area would find this guy perfectly OK as he was pleasant and good about coming when he said he would and that's important for busy people; but, most people in the DC area would not know a cord of wood from an apple pie.  
First he told me that I had asked for a cord of wood. I hadn't. I asked for a half cord.  Later when we looked at his notes regarding price it was clear that I had asked for 1/2 cord stacked. He simply wanted me to take the everything on his truck. I had asked for the delivery to be stacked. He said I hadn't. We compromised by both of us using wheel barrows to cart the wood to my wood pile. I stacked it myself.
My biggest disappointment however is that I was shorted... a lot. A cord by custom and in some states by law (I'm not sure about Maryland), is 4 ft x 4 ft x 8 ft.  He knew that I knew he was shorting me because I revealed that I used to heat with wood and then started rummaging around in the remaining wood in his truck to find me some decent pieces of actual good firewood.  That did not nearly make up for the fact that what he sold me was barely more than a quarter cord for which I overpaid. I have a quarter cord stacking bin and that is what it filled. Not a half cord by a long shot.  
Despite his being pleasant and prompt and returning my call quickly and being honest about the wood he had available, I cannot recommend him to others.

Provider brought firewood on time as he promised.  He was professional and courteous.  There were many pieces that needed to be cut to fit in my fireplace.  The wood generally seemed reasonably seasoned.  Next year, perhaps I should try locusts wood as he explained that it burns hotter and come in smaller sizes though much more expensive.  Overall, I am satisfied with the service.

Mr. Walker was responsive to our call, came up with a plan and implemented fast.  He worked with us as we tweaked the plans here and there.
