Groundhogs were invading our yard and digging under our porch. They ripped down a bird feeder and destroyed some plants. The last straw was finding groundhog poop on the front steps! I got a list of trappers in Montgomery County, MD from the USDA. Larry was the first one on the list in my town. He felt that he could catch them in a few days ($75 per day, unlimited groundhogs). He explained that they could not be relocated and would have to be killed. I was a little disturbed about this, but it seemed like the only way; otherwise, they'd just be someone else's problem. He said he would dispatch them humanely. The traps themselves did not hurt the critters, they just went in and couldn't get out. Larry even put a cover over each trap so the groundhogs wouldn't bake in the sun. I hope I never need his services again, but I know who to call if groundhogs invade once more.
