As condo president and then treasurer in charge of getting quotes, I have worked with Kevin for years - meeting with him initially years ago to troubleshoot a skylight leak after a detail-oriented construction contractor I trusted recommended him. Kevin studied the skylight but also the rest of the roof and took multiple photos, and then he sent me a detailed frame-by-frame report describing everything that was good…and not so good. He pointed out where a previous roofer had done something faulty (and he gave me the diplomatic language to use, to get that roofer to come back and repair the work, cost-free), plus he documented what he thought was in need of simple maintenance versus replacement. His work ethic and honesty is what won me over. He wouldn’t charge me more than $100 that time, to reseal the skylight, despite the several hours of work he had put in on the inspection, evaluation and then simple repair. So when we had *major* new work to do, two years later, he’s the guy I called. He again helped troubleshoot leaks that were coming into two of our units from faulty exterior brickwork, and unsealed flashing around two exterior doors. He recommended getting bricklayers in for the bulk of the job, quoting us far less for the portion he and his team could/would repair. His teams are polite and professional, and he also treats them with respect, making sure to introduce his foreman on the first day of work. His team is now replacing a leaky storage area roof, in 20 degree weather. In summary, he’s got our business for life!

The owner, Kevin, came out to give an estimate. He and a crew of three came out at the scheduled day, Kevin left and the crew did the job unsupervised, and they did a competent and workmanlike job on the heat-sealed roofing membrane, and reseated my skylight by heating the asphalt to soften it so that the skylight fit properly. Kevin had estimated $1070 for the job, and later reduced it to an even $1000. The whole job took an unbelievably short about 1-1/2 hours total, from start to finish. This struck me as pretty steep on a per man-hour basis. They did a good job, though. P.S. After a heavy rain, the porch still showed leakage! I climbed up and examined the repaired area, and could not see how it could possibly leak! Examining the side of the house, I found some cracks in which rain could enter if blowing hard at the right angle. I climbed a ladder and caulked these, which seems to now have fixed the leak problem!

We have used Daylight for roofing and they are a pleasure to work with. Kevin will come over and easily climb on any roof. We had him do a very nice bathroom remodel with high end fixtures (materials not included in this price). Other than a tile order delay (fault of multiple people) the job went well. It did take a long time (most big jobs do...) but the end result was excellent detailed work. The bathroom is a gorgeous oasis.

Dealing with kevin was very easy. hes responsive, including email, punctual and flexible. we really need much more work than just the roofing and he was very willing to break up the estimate and perform the work at our pace. I was very keen to find a contractor who can do historic pointing + roofing. I am in the process of scheduling the pointing so i'll post about that separately. He also had no problem getting up on our roof which is a bit challenging for other roofers.

I called for a leak that occured with recent rain. The owner showed up on a weekend to help diagnose the problem. I got my estimate the same weekend by email along with pictures of the roof problem. I accepted the proposal and work started and completed 2 days after the proposal was signed and the owner supervised the entire job. Top quality company, they always were there to answer my questions.
