We found only two potential suppliers/installers of good spray foam who were properly licensed and would serve our area. Foam InSEALators had the product we wanted, at a reasonable price, and in the time frame we needed for our construction schedule. One issue we had with the job was that they arrived with a type of foam that was less efficient and less expensive than what we had ordered and paid for. If we had not noticed the difference on the product labeling, the wrong stuff would have been sprayed in; we didn't think it was very professional to show up with the wrong product. We insisted on what we had ordered, and they had to go get it. Getting just the right amount of foam in the right places (it expands rapidly) is probably not easy, especially wearing the complete protective suit that is needed, but some of the foam got on our new siding, which we weren't really happy about. However, the product seems to be the best insulator going, the company's workers were trained, and there are not many other suppliers out there who take proper precautions for safe installation.

Allison was very knowledgeable in her trade. She was not afraid to get dirty and really get into the areas and thoroughly check all the areas needing work. I was very happy with the estimate for both areas (Attic - $898.92; Crawlspace - $1,369). A total price with removal of old insulation $2,705.72
I was coming into this estimate believing I would be paying well over $3,000 for both jobs but EXTREMELY happy with the price. Definitely using Foam InSEALators for the job.
Update: 12/31/12
I was happy with the amount of time it took to complete the jobs. I was especially happy with how the crawlspace can now be used as an extra storage area. Waterproofing and insulation in the crawlspace should help drastically with heat/cool kept in the house and moisture. The only area of concern for me that was frustrating was the use of sub-contractors. No one seemed to know what needed to be done and kept asking me what insulation to take out and where to put the other insulation. So, I actually am not sure if the job was done completely to the satisfaction of the first person that came out (Allison) to give me the quote. I am happy with the job but I am ignorant on how the job should look at completion. I would encourage Foam Insealators to always send out a professional (or the original person that gave the estimate) to check the work and confirm everything was done correctly. Not sure if there is any need to respond to an and quot;Aand quot; rated comment but it would be a show of good faith towards me and the work performed. My bank (through my mortgage) sent Foam Insealators a check for the work and THEY cashed it even though I paid them already with a check of my own at the end of the work. This was very disappointing. I still haven't seen the return of my money (I paid once and my bank paid them once insteading of reimbursing me). I still have yet to see the return of my funds 3 weeks later.
Response from Foam InSEALators
"Thank you for your review and feedback. We apologize for any confusion our crew/subcontractor had. The same day we were made aware of double payment we remitted a refund check. Thank you for sharing your insights. We will use them to continually improve our service."

I have an enclosed porch that is now a tiled bathroom. The cold air underneath was affecting the tile, and if it was cold enough would freeze a water pipe. I got two quotes, and Foam InSEALators was cheaper by half. The person doing the estimate is not the person doing the install. The installation of spray foam went smoothly. The enclosed porch is over an old oil tank, so it can get a little tricky to move around, but the installers seemed to do ok.

I had arrival times changed very late. This is not normally a big deal; however, the installers have a large truck (about the size of a furniture truck) that must be parked close to the house. The company asked me to save a spot for their truck but because they arrived later than we had originally arranged, I wasn't able to keep a large enough spot. The installers were flexible and were able to put their truck on a side street and could run the chemical hoses up to the house.

They did a good job and did exactly what they advertised. They listened to us and were willing to try a new solution.
