What a fantastic experience overall. Mr. Keeney has been tuning pianos for the past 60 years. He is truly a master! It's obvious he not only knows what he is doing but he has a love for his job. Once he got the piano back from the refinisher's, he called me over to his workshop to show me something that he didn't think was quite right. There was a small area that the refinisher just didn't see. Mr. Keeney's comment was that Mr. Pulley needed to make that right or he wouldn't be using him any more. (Mr. Pulley did, indeed, make it right!) This was my grandmother's piano and is about 80 or so years old. It looks and sounds wonderful. Once it had been moved back into my house, Mr. Keeney came after several weeks to let it "rest" and tuned it again.
Description of Work: I have an antique upright piano which needed more than just tuning to be usable. I wasn't sure if it was worth fixing. I called Mr. Keeney who asked me what kind of piano it was. Charles M. Stieff. He immediately said that it would be worth fixing, gave me a little history of the piano and made an appointment to come see me the next day to look at it. In all he replaced a set of strings and pins, a set of hammers, a set of dampers, a set of straps, cleaned everything, replaced the hammer rail felt, the spring rail felt, the name board felt, redid the decal with the name, put new felt under keys, replaced the strip muffler felt and regulated the action, and tuned it. He brought Mr. Rudolph Pulley with him who refinishes many of the pianos that he works on.

I was extremely pleased with the work that Don Keeny did. I recently moved from Harford County to Annapolis. My movers had said that 3 men would be needed to move the piano. When they got there, they said it was too heavy and they needed 2 more men. It took 5 men to do what Mr. Keeney had done with 2 or 3. And the 5 men ended up gouging my walls in my new home. The service was performed quickly, efficiently and very respectfully; of my piano, my new home, and me. I would definitely recommend this service
Description of Work: I had an antique upright piano to be refinished and refurbished. Don Keeney brought a helper with him and together they moved this very heavy piano without damaging my walls or anything else. He moved it to the re-finishers and then from there to the place where it was to be refurbished. From that shop, he moved it back to my house. On the return trip, he did have 2 helpers instead of 1.
